The museum, located in Exposition Park in Downtown Los Angeles, will hold various discussions, presentations and craft activities throughout the day. The schedule includes:

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Enjoy drop-in art activities with the whole family. Make dream catchers with inspiring quotes by Martin Luther King Jr., contribute to the community peace garden installation, or make a unique collage bookmark.
  • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Stop by the Women of the Civil Rights Movement panel featuring various local political and educational panelists.
  • 1 to 3 p.m.: Listen to a marathon reading of Martin Luther King Jr. speeches  by various Los Angeles professors and educators.
  • 3 to 4:30 p.m.: Conclude the day with a reading from the critically acclaimed play, The Mountaintop.

The best part? This community celebration is free and open to public, however CAAM recommends registering via Eventbrite.
