Visit the Skirball Cultural Center on February 9 for Open Shabbat, a communal meal, held outdoors, featuring a farm-fresh vegetarian menu.
This reimagining of the Jewish ritual of Shabbat is meant to be a meaningful life practice for all. Shabbat’s literal translation is “to rest.” Come relax, take a breath and practice being fully present.
Mixing and mingling begins at 7 p.m., while dinner begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. The event was designed by Alison Laichter, a meditation teacher, urban planner, and community organizer.
Enjoy live music after dinner! Open Shabbat ticket holders get free admission to Book of J: Jeremiah Lockwood and Jewlia Eisenberg in Concert.
Be sure to dress for outdoor seating. Advance tickets are required and can be purchased via the link below. Tickets are $35, or $20 for full-time students. In addition to dinner, your ticket includes one glass of wine. Additional wine will be available for purchase.
