Record Store Day 2018
Record Store Day returns on April 21 for another celebration of the legacy of brick-and-mortar record stores and the special role they play in their communities.
Since 2008, the annual event has united different independent record stores to participate in this campaign across the world. Various stores open their doors so customers, artists, and music aficionados can come together and celebrate the culture of the record store while enjoying the opportunity to buy exciting new limited-edition recordings.
Among the artists whose limited-edition records will be released just for this day: Prince, The Ramones, Notorious B.I.G., Johnny Cash, Circle Jerks, David Bowie, The Kills, Soundgarden, Ella Fitzgerald, and dozens more.
Dozens of indie record stores all over the Los Angeles area are participating in this year’s event, including The Record Parlour, Gimme Gimme Records, Vacation Vinyl, SoundCheck Hollywood, and Amoeba Music. Visit here for a full list of participating stores.
Leading up to and during the event, there will be various special promotions including exclusive records, free goodies and special releases. Keep in mind that promotions will vary from store to store.
And don’t forget, music fans can attend Record Store Day for free, so come appreciate your neighborhood record store during this local and national event.
