Santa Monica Restaurant Week Begins January 9

The first Santa Monica Restaurant Week, taking place from January 9 to 15, will feature 21 of the area’s best restaurants.
Formerly known as Eat Well Week, Santa Monica Restaurant Week continues the mission of showcasing the beach city’s vibrant food scene while helping begin 2017 on a healthy note.
The star ingredient of this year’s weeklong food event is the radish, in all its vitamin C-rich, detoxifying deliciousness. In fact, each participating restaurant has created a special radish dish especially for the occasion.
During a preview dinner for media at Eric Greenspan’s Maré Santa Monica, it was evident that the seafood mecca’s delicious and savory Restaurant Week offering, a choice of shellfish (mussels, clams, shrimp) with ramen noodles in a leek and white wine broth topped with roasted radish, radish greens, and shaved breakfast radish, is well worth $18.
Other dish highlights during Santa Monica Restaurant Week will include:
Monsieur Marcel: Black Radish Mille-feuille, layer of black radish, green apple, smoked white fish and black caviar, $15
BOA Steakhouse: Breakfast Radish Crostino topped with edamame butter, soft boiled egg, and shaved breakfast radish, $13
Perry’s Cafe: Creamy Radish Soup with Yukon gold potatoes and horseradish sour cream garnish, $7
Plan Check: Crispy Pork Belly with braised watermelon radish, roasted onions, sriracha, and sesame, $12
Sushi Roku: Tuna Radish Sashimi with goat cheese, garlic nikiri soy dressing served on a bed of sliced watermelon radish, $21
