‘Cuba: Antes, Ahora / Cuba: Then, Now’ at The Music Center

Cuba: Antes, Ahora / Cuba: Then, Now, a celebration of Cuban music and dance, comes to The Music Center in Downtown L.A. from November 30 to December 3. This event is part of Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA.
With more than 48 Cuban artists performing and free Afro-Cuban dance and percussion workshops, this four-day exploration of traditional and contemporary music will bring a true taste of the Cuban culture.
You’ll be able to enjoy performances from Cuban-based Malpaso Dance Company, live music by Grammy-award winning jazz composer Arturo O’Farrill, contemporary and traditional Cuban voices in “Sleepless: The Music Center After Hours,” a late-night event featuring Cuban performers such as tres player Pancho Amat.
Other performers include singer, rapper, musician and poet Telmary Diaz; percussionist Yissy García and her group Bandancha, and other local and Cuban-American performers and visual artists.There will also be Afro-Cuban drumming and dance workshops and a community jam session.
