The Urban Chuck Wagon: 100 Years of Food Truck Fare is a new tasting event coming to The Autry on February 23!
Los Angeles’ first food trucks — horse-drawn carriages — popped up back in the 1880s and were inspired by the chuck wagons of the Old West. Mostly operated by immigrants, the foods they served were the basis of some of Angelenos’ favorites dishes to this day.
At The Urban Chuck Wagon, come sample dishes representing a century of food trucks. Discover the historic flavors of tamales, oyster cocktails, and other street food specialties, then experience modern versions of food cart cuisine from contemporary chefs.
Tickets include plates from multiple food stations, access to the galleries and garden, and presentations by chefs and food history experts.
Chuck Wagons: The First Food Trucks is particularly suited to The Autry, a museum devoted to the history of the American West.
Tickets are $65 and reservations are recommended. See the link below for more details. Enjoy!
