According to The Source Metro blog the free rides will be on the entire Expo Line, from 7th St/Metro Center to Downtown Santa Monica.

Free rides will begin at noon on Friday until the end of daily service, with the Saturday freebies starting on at 4:42 a.m. in Downtown Santa Monica and at 4:45 a.m. at 7th/Metro Center and lasting the entire day until the end of service around 2 a.m.

In addition to the free rides, special station celebrations will take place along the Expo Line throughout the day on Saturday, May 20.

The celebration events will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, with participating stations for the day including Downtown Santa Monica, 17th St/SMC, 26th St/Bergamot, Expo/Bundy and Palms.

Attendees can expect live entertainment, children’s activities, food trucks, bike valet and bike-pit stops, and information booths as part of the public celebrations.

Also note that the Culver City Station, which has been open since 2012, will be joining in on the festivities.

Major construction on Phase 2 of the Expo Line began in 2012 with build out of the 6.6 mile extension completed earlier this year.

The $1.5 billion project acquired most of its funding via Measure R, a half-cent sales tax measure approved by voters back in 2008.
