To that end, we asked a few of our fellow L.A. bloggers, podcasters, and social media brethren to help us out with their top picks for this weekend, and then we combined those choices with one pick from both Christina and I.

4. 20th Anniversary Screening of Empire Records

In addition to seeing a Hannibal Buress set at EPR, our friend Jean Trinh,Deputy editor of LAist, mentioned a fun anniversary screening you might want to be aware of (especially kids of the 90’s):

5. Grand Performances (or maybe a Dodger Game)

Anyone up for a free downtown concert? This weekend includes Classical Remix featuring Daedelus and Alfredo Rodriguez.

6. Cold War Kids at the Annenberg Space for Photography

Traffic-gal-Friday Kajon Cermak (from KCRW) thinks the top pick for the weekend is a FREE Cold War Kids concert as part of KCRW’s Sound in Focus at the Annenberg Space for Photography Hard to argue there!
