Get a New Best Friend at the NKLA Super Adoption Event November 7-8

October 27, 2015 by Christina Champlin

Brian and I adopted our dog Milo a little more than one year ago from the Pasadena Humane Society and it’s been just about the best decision of my life…  other than starting We Like L.A. of course 😉

With that said, if you’re looking for a furry bff to cuddle and “chill and Netflix” with than NKLA’s Super Adoption is the place to go.

Taking place at the La Brea Tar Pits the weekend of November 7-8, shelters and rescue groups from all over our city will come together to help find homes for hundreds of animals. More than a thousand adoptable dogs and cats will be featured that day!

The NKLA spring event held last May saw 520 cats and dogs (plus one pig and one bunny) adopted into forever homes in just 48 hours. That made room for 100 more shelter dogs and cats to be accepted into NKLA Coalition groups and other rescue groups that attended, making it a record-breaking event with more than 620 lives saved!!!

This family-friendly event is free and features L.A.’s most popular food trucks and an NKLA photo booth, plus lots of fun prizes.

All adoptable pets are/will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. All adopters generously receive a collar, leash, coupons, pet beds, pet food and more while supplies last!

Adopt and save a life this November and help turn L.A. into a no-kill city!

NOTE: Each participating rescue group and shelter at the event has its own adoption application, interview process and adoption fee structure. Adoption fees help cover costs such as spay/neuter, vaccinations and other medical needs. Please note that all participating shelters and many of the participating rescue groups offer same-day adoptions, but some groups require home checks as part of the application process. Potential adopters should come prepared with a valid form of identification and payment. If you’re a renter, it’s a good idea to have a letter from your landlord stating that you are allowed to have a pet.
