The Peace Awareness Labyrinth: A Hidden Oasis in the Heart of L.A.

Posted by

Listed as one of our top 7 peaceful places in the city of Los Angeles, the Peace Awareness Labyrinth and Gardens are centrally located right in the heart of mid-city, just south off the 10 freeway.

The official website describes the gardens as “a day retreat where people can relax in nature without leaving Los Angeles. It is a sacred space where you can reconnect with yourself and with Spirit.”

In a nutshell, when you need to get away, but you can’t go far, this is the perfect respite.

The Peace Awareness Center features a lush Japanese garden with soothing streams and fountains, a Italian renaissance mansion called the Guasti Villa, and a stone carved circular “labyrinth” that guests can walk along to focus their energies and recenter their spirit (see video below for a full description).

Best part? It’s 100% free to the public. Just check the hours below if you plan on going as they are limited.

If you’re looking for more information on spiritual enlightenment or the mansion’s history, you can schedule a docent lead tour of the grounds. Big groups are recommended to call to make reservations.
