Want low key sweet plans on Halloween? Head over to Sweet Rose Creamery’s Studio City Fall Movie Nights where they’ll be screening Hocus Pocus for free in their back patio. Order up a seasonal treat like pumpkin ice cream or a Halloween Sundae topped with a spooky marshmallow.

Wokcano in Santa Monica is hosting their annual WOK-ing Dead Halloween Party this Friday, Oct. 28 The night will feature a zombie dance-off, costume contests, themed food and drink specials, and House music from DJ Frankie and DJ Ivory. Costume contest prizes will be given out for Best Zombie, Sexiest, Scariest, Most Original, Best Overall.

The Dog Cafe is celebrating Halloween this weekend with costumed pups and treats for humans and the adoptable dogs.

The All-You-Can-Carry Pumpkin Patch is back at the Santa Monica Farmers Market Wednesday, Oct. 26! $5 cash gets you as many pumpkins can carry down a 25-foot long pumpkin patch lane. Come early they ran out of pumpkins last year 😉

Dog Haus Biergarten in Pasadena celebrates their five year anniversary this Friday Oct. 28 with $5 deals. Enjoy all Dog Haus dog, sausages and burgers for $5. Pair your meal with a $5 beer or well drink. Show up from 5 to 6 p.m. and score $1 PBRs and sliders!

Big Bar in Los Feliz is having a Stranger Things themed cocktail bash this Thursday Oct. 27  Hang out with Alex Goode & The Botanist Gin, along with Randy Tarlow and Liquid Alchemist. The “Upside Down Patio” will be serving complimentary punch, eye ball cake bites, and a special Stranger Things themed cocktail menu! Look out for Barb she’s still missing and might be lost at Big Bar.

The first ever Hummus Festival will take place at the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The festival will feature a vast variety of hummus from vendors and a hummus competition. Open to the public and free for all ages festivities include live entertainment, kid friendley activities, photo booths and more.

Dia de los Muertos is back at Gracias Madre stop by Sunday Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. for an altar decorating ceremony complete with Aztec dancers and menu specials like Pumpkin Empanadas and a Big PUNkin horchata cocktail.

Hyperion Public is throwing a Halloween bash at both their Silver Lake and Studio City locations. The Headstone Happy Hour will come alive starting at 9 p.m. with spooky drink specials like the Necronomicon and Rabid Moscow Mule. Sink your teeth into $6 eats and come decked out in your best costume to participate in the contest 😉

Le Petit Paris in DTLA is hosting a Halloween party with a costume contest, live DJ and drink food specials all evening.

Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections is expanding again! This time with a brand new chocolate boutique opening this Friday right next to her flagship shop in South Silver Lake. Stop by Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. for Chef Shawn Pham’s Thai spiced steak tartare, Banh Mi salad and perfectly crisp chicken wings (exclusive to the happy hour menu.)  If you’re lucky Beverage Director Ron Carey might be helming the bar, ask him about the spiked shrub cocktails ($6) made from scratch, the drink is a real treat for bar aficionados.
