The Mar Vista Launches Weekly Specials & Saturday Brunch

The Mar Vista just launched three big specials. “Uni Thursdays” will present rotating dishes using Santa Barbara sea urchin like uni deviled eggs and uni pasta. “Spiny Lobster Fridays” will serve the local lobster in a variety of ways like a Lobster Dynamite and ravioli. Lastly, Mar Vista now offers “Brunch Saturdays” complete with live art, music, mimosas, and solid eats like their bacon & egg hot pot. The specials will all run till the end of the year.

Love Thanksgiving? Head to Salt & Straw for ice cream flavors like Salted Caramel Thanksgiving Turkey, Sweet Potato Casserole with Maple Pecans, Spiced Goat Cheese & Pumpkin Pie and Buttered Mashed Potatoes & Gravy. Cole’s 109th anniversary gala dinner prepared by chefs Neal Fraser of Redbird and Christian Page of Cassell’s Hamburgers. Tickets include French dips, roasts of lamb and salmon plus two cocktails from Cole’s and The Varnish. Entertainment includes live jazz music and the “World’s Largest Old Fashioned” featuring Penny Pound Ice. The cost is $70 per person.

Saturday November 11th, 2017

The Tropicália Music & Taco Festival happening at The Queen Mary is a one-day festival offering multiple music stages and unlimited taco samplings. Tickets start at $85 for general admission and go up to $150 for VIP.

Sunday November 12th, 2017

The L.A. Tofurky Trot returns to Griffith Park this Sunday with a family-friendly 5K run/walk followed by a delicious vegan food festival. Vendors include Ripple Foods, Taqueria La Venganza, Charlie’s Brownies, Pies by Domoníc and many more. All runners will also receive a swag-filled Tofurky tote bag.
