Valentines Day Things to do and Where to Eat

Check out our massive list of 35 Things to do on Valentines Day for ideas on what to do and where to eat. In addition below are some last minute additions we think are worth looking into as well.

BigBar welcomes guest bartender, Katy O’Donnell for a romantic night of the crafting the ultimate Stevie Wonder mixtape and cocktails inspired by the iconic music man. There will be a Stevie Wonder bingo with lovely prizes for all winners throughout the night.

Rosaliné in West Hollywood will offer a three course “Love to Share” menu featuring Ensalada de Beterraga with beets 3-ways, Spanish Mackerel Ceviche with aji Amarillo ponzu, Chaufa Paella and red velvet con leche. The prix fixe menu starts at $85 per person and includes choice of white wine, red wine, the Bellicose Warrior or a Pisco Sour.

Gelateria Uli will celebrate Valentine’s Day with heart-shaped sorbet popsicles. The $6 treat is made with homemade raspberry sorbet and hand-dipped in dark chocolate.

Silver Lake’s gorgeous resturant hideaway Cliff’s Edge will offer a three course prix-fixe menu that also includes an oyster amuse and a granita intermezzo.

There’s a Valentine’s Day “Sour Exes” Party and Aurora Lutea Bottle Release happening at Arts District Brewing Co. Expect a stellar list of sour beers to be available that night from Beachwood Blendry’s, De Proef Brouwerij and more.

Fat Tuesday Events

Today is Fat Tuesday and that means some L.A. restaurants and bars will be celebrating the Big Easy style. Below are some noteworthy foodie events happening in Los Angeles.

The Little Easy Mardi Gras Party: From noon to 7 p.m. this DTLA establishment will host happy hour, a Abita New Orleans tap takeover, $8 Hurricanes, beads and live music.

Little Dom’s will offer a Mardi Gras Menu: A New Orleans native, Chef Brandon Boudet will bring Big Easy flavors to the Los Feliz restaurant on Tuesday featuring gumbo, soft shell crab po’boys, beignets, pork belly cracklins, king cake, boudin balls, red beans & rice and cocktail specials.

Harold & Belle’s 48th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration: From 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. the Jefferson Park cajun restaurant will feature live music in the bar at 3 p.m. and in the Peacock Lounge at 6 p.m. Rémy Martin and Hurricane drink specials will be held all day long and the Geaux Food Truck will be outside serving a limited menu all day.

The Attic on Broadway 3 Course New Orleans Meal: Dine on a three course meal that starts with a shrimp cocktail, and moves onto a main course of Crawfish Boil and ends with a traditional New Orleans style King Cake. Find the baby in the cake and win a prize! The meal coast $50 per person and includes a cocktail, reservations are recommended.

Fat Tuesday at the Original Farmers Market: Dance to Eddie Baytos & The Nervis Bros from 6 to 9 p.m. and grab food from The Gumbo Pot who serves crawfish, Jambalaya, gumbo, beignets and more.

Fat Taco Tuesday at The 6740: Beer, beads, bands, $2 tacos and happy hour all day long at this Whittier bar.

Fat Tuesday at Black Cat BBQ: Head to the Highland Park farmers market and grab a bite from Black Cat BBQ. They’ll be serving Cajun dishes from 3 to 7 p.m.

Fat Tuesday at FiveOFour: From February 13-14 this Hollywood bar will host live entertainment, 2 for 1 drinks, $6 Abitas and free beignets!

Fat Tuesday Party at The French Quarter Creole Bar & Grill in Bellflower: The parking lot party will feature two bands, pony rides and loads of cajun food like crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya smoked oysters and more.

Mardi Gras Celebration at The Slip Bar & Eatery: The Redondo Beach spot located on the boardwalk will offer $6 Hurricanes and a secret recipe jambalaya for one day only. There’s also a vegan version so all can enjoy Fat Tuesday!

Koreatown’s Newest Restaurant BongChu Only Serves One Dish

Koreatown newcomer BongChu only serves one thing, and it’s jjimdak a braised chicken dish from South Korea made with vegetables and glass noodles. We Like L.A. contributor Juliet Bennett Rylah stopped in to try jjimdak this past weekend. The verdict? Pretty damn tasty.

Angel City Brewery hosts a night of Gypsy Jazz in the Arts District.

Ever Bar at the Kimtpon Everly Hotel in Hollywood is throwing an anti-Valentine’s Day party. From 4-7 p.m. gusts can enjoy drink specials, conversation heart cookies and the opportunity to “shred your ex.”

Greenbar Distillery presents Spirited Trivia night at L.A.’s oldest organic distillery. Enjoy craft cocktails while competing with locals. You have to be a member of the distillery to join but membership is free!

Friday February 16th, 2018

The Chocolate & Art Show Los Angeles returns to The Vortex in DTLA on February 16-17, with chocolate fondue, the work of up-and-coming artists & more.

Jack Daniel’s has been selling its whiskey since 1866 and this weekend they will bring a pop-up shop to Los Angeles for just three days. From February 16-18, the Jack Daniel’s Lynchburg General Store will offer Angelenos a unique assortment of goods, services and events featuring live music and Southern food from Miss Mary Bobo’s, a Lynchburg institution for over a century.

Saturday February 17th, 2018

The 40z & Waffles Brunch Series is back for NBA All-Star Weekend. Not your ordinary Sunday Funday, attendees will enjoy brunch, cocktails, a surprise live performance and more at Viva Hollywood. Early-bird tickets are currently $40.

Sunday February 18th, 2018

The Great Boozy Bake Off will take place at Angel City Brewery in DTLA this Sunday. The bake off will feature bakers testing their skill at incorporating booze into cupcakes, candies, breads and more. A $2o ticket gets you a sampling of all the contestants creations and all proceeds will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There will also be games, a cookie-decorating station and more to be announced. Beer is not included in the ticket price.
