The NoMad Truck x Walter Manzke

The NoMad Truck recently launch a burger collaboration with chef Walter Manzke of République. The burger features a crispy panko-crusted chicken patty, avocado, Serrano chili, lime, red onion, tomato, Little Gem lettuce and Green Goddess Dressing. Proceeds from the $10 République burger will benefit charity Stu and the Kids. Roy Choi’s Mom is Having a Pop Up Dinner

Mommy Choi will be hosting her first popup dinner through Feastly on Monday Aug 21. Guests can get a taste of Korean comfort foods that Roy Choi ate growing up like galbi, Korean rice cakes, japchae (glass noodles) and spicy chicken skewers. Tickets are $45 for the 5-course meal. Each dish will feature her signature Mommy Sauce.

Italian Wine Dinner for the Ultimate Wine Aficionado

International wine critic Daniele Cernilli, aka DoctorWine just published a guide dedicated to Italian wines and this month he hits the road with a small group of wine makers and representatives from notable Italian luxury wineries for an intimate tour celebrating the book and showcasing a selection of Cernilli’s favorite wines. On Wednesday, August 23 the tour will stop at Valentino Ristorante in Santa Monica for a dinner featuring wines from Querciabella from Tuscany/Chianti Classico, Pio Cesare from Piedmont, Velenosi Vini from Marche, Feudo Maccari from Sicily and more. Tuesday August 8th, 2017

CHAYA Downtown Summer Festival returns for the summer season now till August 31. Hangout in the lantern-covered Japanese Beer Garden, sip on sorbet cocktails and play old-fashioned games like air hockey, shuffleboard, foosball and classic video games. Grab a summer bite from Chef Joji Inoue’s Yakitori menu which features $2.50 skewers, $4 grilled octopus tacos, $6 pork belly fried noodles, $7 crepes and more.

Summer Movie Nights at Sweet Rose Creamery Studio City returns with a free screening of The Goonies.

E.P. & L.P. presents ‘Melrose Rooftop Cinema’ in West Hollywood featuring sweeping city views, modern Asian cuisine and an outdoor movie experience every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening through August 30. The series continues this week, starting with The Fifth Element on Tuesday. General Admission tickets cost $15 and VIP seating is $25. There is a dining option before the movie at the Aussie-Fijian restaurant, it’s called the ‘Express Menu’ featuring three courses for an additional $34 featuring Executive Chef Louis Tikaram’s new dishes inspired by his recent travels to Fiji, Vietnam, and Australia.

Spend an evening poolside and beneath the stars enjoying dinner, cocktails and a classic film as Mr. C’s Poolside Cinema returns with a screening of Boogie Nights. Among the food offerings are the Club Sandwich with fried egg, Pizza with burrata and Prosciutto crudo di Parma, and Mr C Avocado Salsa with toasted pizza crisps. You can also enjoy some caprese-style popcorn, candy, mini bottles of Moët & Chandon Champagne, or, if you prefer beer, Peroni Nastro Azzurro on tap.

Lawry’s in Beverly Hills will debut a new lounge menu on August 9 featuring shareable appetizers like Corn Fritters, Chicken Lollipops and Half Prime Rib Sandwiches to name a few. In addition, Lawry’s will also introduce a late night happy hour available Sunday through Friday from 8:30 to 10 p.m. offering specially priced bar bites as well as $7 wines, $5 beer and $9 cocktails.

Thursday, August 10 is National S’mores Day! We found three unique s’mores to dig into on this sacred day.

ROKU and Sushi Roku: Zen S’mores, inspired by a Japanese Zen garden, the plate features crushed graham crackers for “sand-like” effect with green tea and chocolate truffles, marshmallow cream, and a live fire at the heart of the plate to roast the marshmallows in.

BOA Steakhouse: S’mores 5.0, a rich flourless chocolate cake, toasted vanilla “fluff”, milk chocolate ice cream, and gluten-free graham crackers.

E.P. Restaurant: Coconut S’mores, a Southeast Asian take on an American favorite made with house-made coconut marshmallow, milk chocolate, shredded coconut, graham cracker crumble, fresh and liquid nitrogen-frozen berries, and young coconut sorbet.

626 Night Market comes to Santa Anita Park from August 11-13 for the largest Asia-themed night market in the United States. It will feature food, merchandise, crafts, arts, games, music, and entertainment.

Catch a flick on the rooftop of the Ritz-Carlton in Downtown Los Angeles during Summer Supper + Show Series presented by WP24 by Wolfgang Puck. The series continues with a screening of Clueless on August 11 and 12. The experience begins with a two-course prix-fixe dinner at modern Chinese eatery WP24, then a move to the rooftop deck to take in a movie from a select reserve seat while savoring cinema snacks such as housemade potato chips, candied Marcona almonds, crispy breadsticks with prosciutto, and caramel corn. Tickets for this supper-and-a-show experience are $85. If you prefer to just watch the movie while enjoying the aforementioned Puck-created concessions, reserve a seat with snacks for just $25.

Thrillist Taco Knockout in Downtown Los Angeles takes over Lot 613 in Downtown L.A. for the “ultimate taco party” featuring tacos from Mexikosher, Aqui Es Texcoco, Slapfish and more. Tickets cost $35 and gets you eight tacos, cervezas and more.

BrunchCon at The Reef in Downtown Los Angeles (August 12-13) is brunching in a convention literally! For its second year the event will roll out a brand-new format that includes six open mimosa bars (along with other brunch cocktails) and one tasting from each vendor with over 50 vendors you might leave in a food coma.
