The Broad’s Going to Be Jamming This Summer With a New After-Hours Music, Film & Performance Series

May 10, 2016 by Brian Champlin

When we told you about the revised ticketing schedule at The Broad we mentioned that the reconfigured process was in anticipation of a new selection of paid, ticketed events soon to offered at the museum.

Now, that vision of unique experiential content is being brought to life in an upcoming program called Summer Happenings, a diverse set of after-hours music, film and performance-based events that will be presented in the context of two distinct series.

The first in that series, Nonobject(ive), will take place on one special Saturday each month from June through September with each event offering late-night music, performance and spoken word showcases throughout the museum, including the outdoor plaza.

Curated by Bradford Nordeen and Pitchfork director of editorial operations Brandon Stosuy, $35 tickets to Nonobject(ive) get you access the to museum as well as the Cindy Sherman exhibit.

The second summer series is called Doll Parts, an attempted reframing of Cindy Sherman’s work as a “moving-image feast of international films, artists’ tapes and music videos,” according to The Broad’s official website.

Doll Parts starts on June 23, with the $12 events running on select Thursdays until September 29.

We’ve got the full schedule of both summer series listed below.

Keep in mind tickets for each event go on sale on the 15th of the preceding month.

Enjoy!
