Los Angeles provides no limit of things to do, some awesome and some not so awesome. Since time is precious in this fast paced city, we decided to curate a list of things to do in Los Angeles every week end that’ll help you decide how you want to spend your limited supply of attention (not to mention dollars!).

This weekend includes a VR Expo, a huge photography fair in DTLA, a brewery opening in the Arts District, a Fast Times at Ridgemont High fest, a fitness expo, the LA River night run, and tons more.

1. dineL.A. 

Los Angeles restaurant week, aka dineL.A. , is a 14-day dining event showcasing over 300 of the city’s finest eateries. The diverse selection of restaurants participating this year will each offer specially priced prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus from January 18 through January 31. 2. Photo L.A.

Photo L.A. is a three-day photography fair featuring lectures, roundtable discussions, special installations, and some of the most amazing pictures you’ve ever seen. Probably just a little bit better than what you’re seeing on Instagram… 😉 Discount tickets (up to 50% ) can be found via Goldstar.

3. Joie, Current Elliott & Equipment Blow Out Warehouse Sale

Starting Monday the 18th to Saturday the 23rd luxe brands Joie, Current Elliott & Equipment are having a sale. Save 75%-92% on women’s apparel all week from 9:00am – 6:30pm and Saturday from 9:00am – 3:00pm. One rule, handbags are not allowed inside the sale.

4. The Groundlings: The Completely Different Late Show

The Completely Different Late Show is a hilarious improv show by the cast of the Groundlings’ Main Company. Audience shout suggestions throughout the night for improvisational scenes performed by some of the best in the business. 5. Los Angeles Print Fair

Now in it’s 29th year, the Los Angeles Print Fair returns from January 22-24, 2016 in a new location at Bonhams in West Hollywood. The boutique art fair, offers a unique opportunity to meet leading art dealers and purchase prints from several periods. Works on display are created by artists of art historical importance using techniques such as etching, lithography or woodcut.

6. Recess Eatery’s second location in Highland Park Now Open

The popular Glendale restaurant, owned by chef Sevan Abdessian and wife Tamar Kevonian, is now open for business at its second location in Highland Park. Hours of operation are 5:00pm – midnight Monday through Thursday and 9:00am – 1:00am Friday through Sunday. The menu will be similar to the Glendale location with an emphasis on dinner items, with the addition of breakfast and lunch served on weekends. The new location also hosts a full bar and a beautiful back patio space. Dish highlights include the succulent braised short rib and a healthy but flavorful St. Ann’s Ahi Tuna.

7. The Stylist LA Showroom Sample Sale

The Stylist LA Showroom is having a sample sale Thursday through Saturday. Score 40%-90% on labels like For Love and Lemons, Parker, Bettini’s Bikinis. Times are as followed:Thursday 6:00pm – 9:00pm, Friday 11:00am – 5:00pm, Saturday 11:00am – 3:00pm.

8. Dick Dale at The Canyon

Catch a live performance from America’s undisputed king of surf guitar this Friday night at The Canyon in Agoura Hills. Discount tickets to the show start at $18 via our friends at Goldstar (while supplies last).

9. Pacific Design Center’s Winter Art Season Launch

There will be a public opening reception this Friday, from 5:00pm – 9:30pm to celebrate designLAb’s fifth year. During the reception a series of 16 cutting-edge arts, architecture & design, sound and taste exhibitions will debut, with several one-night-only performances that include Steve Boyer’s Tasting Bar with samplings of exotic, highly-concentrated bitters in the context of his ongoing digital exhibit, Drawing Agents. At 8:00pm LA-based artist Steve Roden will perform an improvised one-hour sound piece to Stas Orlovski’s animation, Skazka, using a modular synthesizer that incorporates “found” audio materials at Young Projects Gallery.

10. Innovation In Aerospace Panel Discussion

The Idea 2 Innovation (i2i) event series, co-presented by Innovate Pasadena and Caltech, brings together the Pasadena innovation community with industry leaders to exchange ideas in a environment which fosters entrepreneurship. The subject for this particular discussion will be on innovation in aerospace. Happening from 1:30pm – 3:00pm at the Caltech, Hameetman Auditorium.This event is free with a RSVP.

11. Dream Collective’s Epic Silver Lake Sample Sale

Dream Collective located in Silver Lake’s The Corner shopping stretch is having a major jewelry sample sale. Taking place Thursday, January 21st through Thursday, January 28th, the sale promises classic pieces, such as the evil eye jewelry line to be available at steep discounted prices. Items will be marked as low as $10 and the deals will also be featured online too, but it’s worth seeing and trying on in person.

14. VRLA 2016 Winter Expo

Come take a glimpse of the future and check out the latest in virtual reality and immersive technology from the leading companies in the industry at VRLA 2016 Winter Expo, the world’s largest Virtual Reality exhibition. On hand will be featured demos from the likes of Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard, and Samsung GearVR.

15. KURIOS — Cabinet of Curiosities at Dodgers Stadium

16. International Tiki Market Place

Come down to Sunset Beach this Saturday from 10:00am-3:00pm and score some tiki goods. Admission is $10 and comes with a voucher for food & drink. Happening down at Don The Beachcomber.

17. Fast Times Fest at The Wiltern 

The Wiltern is hosting a throwback movie screening of the iconic teen comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High and they plan on making it a truly immersive experience, with a costume contest, a Fast Times tribute band to play after the show and a full bar.

18. 1984 at The Broad Stage

This smash hit straight from London’s West End, makes’s it’s U.S. debut at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. See George Orwell’s novel come to life through radical staging that blurs the line between the past and present and what’s fiction and reality. 19. Minnie Mouse “Rocks the Dots” Fashion & Art Exhibit/ Pop Up Shop

This interactive fashion and art installation will celebrate the signature style of a global icon: Minnie Mouse. In collaboration with Refinery 29 Disney’s Minnie Rocks the Dots will take fans on a journey through the history of Minnie’s influence on fashion and pop culture from her black and white debut in 1928 to her evolution into color. View iconic photographs, archive imagery and sketches from the 30’s through present day at this one day pop up. The exhibition will also feature custom dresses worn by Minnie herself, as well as fashion pieces from around the world, directly inspired by Minnie. Fans who attend the public event on Saturday will get a sneak peek at upcoming Minnie-inspired collaborations, in addition to being able to purchase brand new, limited edition items in a pop up shop. 20. Iron Triangle Brewing Grand Opening!

Iron Triangle is finally open for business! Come down to celebrate this Saturday (5:00pm-10:00pm) in Downtown LA. The free event will have live bands, food and of course beer.

21. The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey

The critically acclaimed off-Broadway hit The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, written by and starring James Lecesne, the writer of the Academy Award-winning film Trevor, will have a limited 23 performance engagement at the Kirk Douglas Theatre from January 13 to January 31, 2016. Watch veteran New York actor and writer James Lecesne as he portrays every character in a small Jersey shore town as they unravel the story a 14 year-old boy who goes missing. Recently awarded the United Solo Special Award as well as being a New York Times Critic’s Pick, this is a show not to be missed. 22. 13th Annual Los Angeles Fit Expo

Happening January 23-24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Downtown this massive fitness expo will host competitions, seminars, live demos, autograph sessions, free samples, and much more. Special guests include Katrina and Karena from Tone it Up!

23. SuperHero — Princess Academy: A Mini-Musical for Little Ones

Need to entertain the little guys and gals this weekend? Check out this one-hour mini-musical performed by the folks at the Creating Arts Company. The show includes singing, dancing, and plenty of audience interaction to keep the little ones engaged throughout. 24. Giant Robot 2 Gallery Presents Year of the Monkey

Year of the Monkey a group exhibition at the Giant Robot 2 Gallery will hold a opening reception with the artists present this Saturday from 6:30pm – 10:00pm. Opening reception for WEIRDOS at the Giant Robot Store on Sawtelle will also hold a opening reception alongside Year of the Monkey.

25. Escape Reality at Magicopolis

Husband-and-wife duo Steve Spill and Bozena Wrobel perform a vaudeville-style magic show that’s fun for the whole family. 27. The Artsy Flea

The Artsy Flea is an arts and flea market that takes place every Saturday from 10:00am –  3:00pm. The Artsy Flea features 145 booths, food trucks, music, kids attractions and more. 28. The Farriers Package at Santa Anita

29. Royce’s Arcade Warehouse Free Day!

On Saturdays Royce’s Arcade Warehouse in Chatsworth opens up its doors to the public for a day of free play from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

30. Brews & Bros Craft Beer Festival 2016

Happening in Upland, the Brews & Bros Craft Beer Festival will celebrate Dale Bros Brewery’s 13th anniversary with over 80 samples of beer plus all the other good stuff like cider, wine, craft soda, gourmet food, live music, games, and more. Your admission ticket gets you a souvenir glass and unlimited pours.

31. Drawing From Antiquity at The Getty Villa

This Saturday join a free bi-monthly drawing class at The Getty Villa. Saturday’s class focuses on drawings using geometric and organic shapes inspired by patterns and designs found on Greek vases. Supplies are provided and all skill levels are welcome.

32. Sing Along With Grease on the Big Screen

Grease up those singing chops and take a journey back to Rydell High in Beverly Hills, where you and the rest of the theatre sing along to hits like “You’re the One That I Want,” “Beauty School Dropout,” “Summer Nights” and other big hits that made Grease one of the best musicals ever made. So dress up like a Pink Lady or T-Bird and head over to the Saban Theatre where legendary L.A. radio personality Charlie Tuna will host the show. Costumes are encouraged and singing is mandatory. 33. LA River Night Run + Taco +Beer + S’mores

This Sunday evening come support the revitalization efforts of the Los Angeles River by participating in a 5k nighttime run in Atwater Village with proceeds from the event to benefit the LA River Corp. Your run registration fee of $35 gets you a tee-shirt, access to a taco bar (vegan friendly), craft beers for all finishers, free photos, glow apparel and a bon-fire finale with s’mores!

34. Golden State of Cocktails

The third annual Golden State of Cocktails will celebrate cocktail culture for three days at the Majestic Downtown. The event will feature seminars, demos, tastings and more. Special dinners will be held each night as part of the Munchies Dinner Series and organized bar crawls to some of the best cocktail bars will be held nightly.

35. Ranger Ernie Hike

This Sunday, at 7:30am Ranger Ernie leads a free hike on the Beacon Trail in Griffith Park. Advanced level hikers only this is a hike with very steep hills that make for a very challenging adventure, 5 miles total.

36. Topanga Vintage Market at Pierce College

Taking place on the fourth Sunday of ever month the Topanga Vintage Market includes over 170 vintage, antiques, and collectibles vendors along side local artists, crafters, designers, musician performances and food trucks round out one of the best vintage markets in LA. Happens 8:00am – 3:00pm. Parking is free, admission is $3, and kids under 12 are free. No pets are allowed.
