Engage with local archaeologists and see how they work during the 3rd annual Archaeology Day on Saturday, October 14 at the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area’s visitor center in Calabasas.

During this free event, you can learn how to dig like an archaeologist, throw a spear, watch flintknapping (making stone tools) and more.

The Santa Monica Mountains were long home to Native Americans, Spanish explorers and colonists, and later Euro-Americans, making this a great spot for such an archeological endeavor!

The visitor center is located at 26876 Mulholland Highway, Calabasas, CA 91302. For more information, call 805-370-2301.
