If you’re interested in becoming a social and/or political activist, head over to The Wiltern on Sunday, April 9 for a FREE workshop called Stand Up and Fight Back: Tactics and Strategies for Effective Creative Activism.

In this political climate, many in Los Angeles are interested in activism, but knowing exactly how to do this can be daunting. This three-hour learning event, organized by the Hammer Museum, will make the prospect of fighting for political and social change a good bit less daunting.

Non-violent civil disobedience had led to freedom, justice and and safely asserting civil rights all over the world, and this workshop will by led by two experienced practitioners of nonviolent activism: Reverend James Lawson, who found inspiration in the work of Mahatma Gandhi and assisted in training Martin Luther King Jr. and thousands of other people active in the US Civil Rights Movement, and Nadine Bloch, training director for Beautiful Trouble, an organization that teaches strategic, creative activism.

This event is open to the public. RSVP via the link below.
