The historic Bob Baker Marionette Theater will honor their late founder, Bob Baker, on February 24 with Bob Baker Day, a free celebration and homage to the famed puppeteer!

In case you’re unfamilar, this iconic theater on the edge of Echo Park and Downtown Los Angeles has been entertaining kids and the young-at-heart with delightful puppet shows since 1963.

So what can you expect for Bob Baker Day 2018? Attendees will be entertained at a carnival atmosphere with an all-day outdoor stage offering live music and entertainment, puppet-making workshops with the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry, carnival midway games, educational and exhibition booths from the local art community,  food trucks, walk-around entertainment and more! With round-the-clock puppet shows and a pop-up puppet museum going on inside the theater, this is a not-to-be-missed celebration.

The event Grand Marshal is DJ Lance Rock of Yo Gabba Gabba, while OK GO’s Tim Nordwind will provide live entertainment. The Outdoor Main Stage will feature live entertainment from Very Be Careful, Tiny & Mary, Radioactive Chicken Heads, and Healing Gems, along with Master of Ceremonies King Kukulele!

Vendors on hand will include Coast-to-Coast Vintage, Miracle Mile Toys, Tiny.Bangs, Yasmine Floral Design, and Girl Scout Troop No. 85.

Details for this event are still being released, but continue checking the event link below for schedule updates. Enjoy!
