The second annual installment of Grand Park’s Winter Glow brings a newly expanded nighttime public art spectacle to the grounds of the Music Center and Grand Park over the course of 20 days this December. The walkable, free-to-attend showcase features illuminated, whimsical interactive art installations perfect for the whole family. The displays open on Dec. 6 and run nightly through Christmas day.
Selected highlights of the 2019 work include Coralation, an interactive light-filled 15-foot dome; Sea Creatures, a series of 18 hanging sculptures evoking microscopic plankton organisms; Fascination 2.0, a 20-foot tall metal dome with animated lighting; and SEEN & UNSEEN, an array of black light images that evoke iconic Downtown locations. In total there are nearly 20 separate works on display from various artists as well as the Grand Park team.
The experience is free and open to the public nightly from Dec. 6-25. Hours of operation are sunset to 10 p.m.
