HANUKKAH FESTIVAL LA/LA at Skirball Cultural Center

The Hanukkah Festival is returning to Skirball Cultural Center on December 10 with a Latin spin.

Taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., this year’s festival will explore the themes of Hanukkah through the traditions of Latin American communities in L.A. Highlights include:

  • Music & Dance: Performances by Latin Jewish bands, alongside tutorials on how to salsa, cumbia, mambo and more.
  • Hands-On Workshops: Visual artist Sandy Rodriguez will guide guests through the creation of a community art installation. Guests will also have a chance to learn about Mexican chocolate decorating.
  • Storytelling: Storytellers will recount the story of Hanukkah in both English and Spanish.

There will also be two continuing exhibits on view, including Another Promise Land: Anita Brenner’s Mexico and Surface Tension by Ken Gonzales-Day: Murals, Signs, and Mark-Making in L.A. For a peek into last year’s event, watch the video below.

Tickets for the event are free for members and $12 for general admission. There is also special pricing for children, seniors and full-time students.  Check for discounted tickets before making your purchase via Goldstar.
