This five-piece art exhibit features Keith’s paintings on different cars and bikes.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Keith Haring was a popular underground NYC artist during the 1980s. He often painted on unconventional surfaces, capturing the spirit of the underground art scene through his imaginative imagery. Even if you don’t know his name, chances are you know his recognizable style of artwork that appeared on Swatch watches, murals around the world, high-profile record covers and on a skirt worn by Madonna in her iconic “Borderline” video.
Kay Haring, Keith’s sister, will be on hand to read and sign her latest children’s book, Keith Haring, The Boy Who Just Kept Drawing at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. In addition, the event will offer several activities, including murals and painting exercises, that celebrate Haring’s iconic style.
Admission to Keith Haring Day is feee with your paid admission to the Petersen.
