He’s a musician, DJ, photographer, vegan restaurant owner (Silver Lake’s Little Pine) and now Moby can add author to his name with the release of his memoir, Porcelain.

Moby will chat with KCRW’s Jason Bentley and there will be a book signing and Q & A following the talk at the Skirball Cultural Center on Friday, June 24 from 8 – 11 p.m. Tickets are $5 or $30 for admission and a book. Purchase here.

The book chronicles his life in New York from 1989 to 1999 where a vegan Christian who doesn’t drink ends up working as a DJ at the underground hip hop and house music scenes and raves. On a grander scale the book is about New York’s transformation from a “broken dirty city to the bizarre and stratospherically expensive city it’s become.”
