Opening: 25th Annual Art of Motion Picture Design at FIDM Museum

FIDM Museum’s newest exhibit, The 25th Annual Art of Motion Picture Design, opens to the public on Tuesday, February 7. This FREE show, in Downtown L.A., features costumes nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costumes, along with numerous other costumes from prominent films from the last year.
This destination-worthy show features over 100 costumes from 26 different movies. Among the movies represented are La La Land, Hail Caesar, The Huntsman, Nocturnal Animals, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Mad Max: Fury Road and many more.
Highlights for lovers of vintage fashion include the ’20s costumes from Live By Night, World War II-era outfits from Allied, the early 20th century over-the-top finery of Florence Foster Jenkins, and ’60s frocks from Hidden Figures.
The small but well-curated FIDM Museum, housed within the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, is is one of Los Angeles’ treasures for lovers of beautiful clothing and costumes. This impressive array of finery is on display every Tuesday through Saturday until April 22.
