Pico Block Party: TRANSLATION

Pico Block Party: Empowering Youth Voices! is a celebratory afternoon taking place at 18th Street Arts Center in Santa Monica on Saturday, May 19.

This free family-friendly festival, the third in a series of Pico Block Parties, is a community festival focused on youth artists and empowering youth voices. It’s a celebration of the many Santa Monica high school and college-age youth deeply invested in political activism and organizing, and young artists throughout our community and beyond.

Enjoy youth-led art-making workshops! You can create your own Pico Neighborhood Loterίa cards with the Santa Monica High School MEChA Student Group, screenprint customized slogans on fabric banners for your next protest march, paint your own tote bag, collage your own ‘zines, create LED greeting cards with Camera Obscura artist-in-residence Brittany Ransom, and more.

The party will also feature tours of artists’ studios, food trucks, live music, live jazz, and dance performances.

Admission is free and you can register via this link.
