FoLAR’s Third Annual River Fest M FA > On Sunday, Friends of the LA River (FoLAR) invites the public to River Fest a free, all-ages event featuring live performances by local artists, a visual art gallery, a vendor marketplace, eco-friendly family activities, and food trucks. Ticket registration is required to enjoy all the complimentary festivities. Runs 2 to 8 p.m. More info here.

Angel City Brewery Avocado FestM FA > Angel City Brewery is celebrating the release of two crowd-favorite seasonal brews – Avocado Ale and Guavocado Ale with a party featuring avocado-themed games, live music, food and vendors, all taking place this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free. Manila SoundFA > This Sunday, Benny Boy Brewing in Lincoln Heights hosts the August edition of Manila Sound, a Filipino-American creative collective that creates events featuring music, food, and local vendors. Expect DJ sets highlighting Original Filipino Music plus food offerings from Lumpia by Tita and Mano Po. The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. Free entry, but it’s 21+ only. More info here.

  • Mount Wilson Observatory’s monthly Concerts in the Dome series continues this Sunday with performances by Zelter String Quarter at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets are $60.

  • The PCC Flea Market brings a massive roster of sellers to the campus of Pasadena City College every first Sunday of the month from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. FA
  • From August 2-15, CatVideoFest brings cat videos to the big screen with a 73-minute romp filled with internet cat classics, animations, and music videos, all in the name of the cute AF kitty. This year’s fest takes place at Vidiots in Eagle Rock. $13 for adults.

  • Manhattan Beach’s Concerts in the Park series at Polliwog Park continues on Sunday with a performance by Doobie Brothers tribute act Doobie Doubles from 5 to 7 p.m. FA
  • Beginning this Sunday, WeVINO in Westlake Village launches Sommelier Sundays, a new guided tasting series led by Head Sommelier Andrei Garcia Starshaya. The debut event on August 3 at 5 p.m. explores Italian white wines—crisp, mineral, and aromatic. Tickets are $35 per person, available via OpenTable.
