Like farm-fresh produce? Like supporting healthy eating awareness for the entire community?
On Sunday, July 19 at the Wiltern Theater, LA Grow will provide a community farm-to-table experience catered by Jennie Cook’s Catering with produce provided by RootDown LA, a South Central based non-profit with a stated goal to to empower high school students to build stronger communities by cooking and growing healthy food, right where they live.
The idea? Bring community businesses together in an event that truly represents healthy eating in action. Mix in some beers, bites, music, and the freshest fare around and you’ve got the makings of something pretty cool.
LA Grow kicks off at 4:30pm with a cocktail hour where you’ll be able to Take a tour of the new RootDown- designed pop up garden, chat with a heath specialist, sample local beers (Stone, Angel City Brewery, Lagunitas) and bites (Kye’s Montana, The Pot, Gjelina, Cafe Gratitude, Whole Foods Venice) while listening to turns curated by KCSN’s DJ Adam Ferrick.
At 5:30pm dinner is served with an plant based supper served family style in three courses (salads, mains, dessert).
GA tickets start at $65 while VIP tickets go for $95.00 and include VIP Parking access, access to cocktail hour and sit down dinner with wine, LA Grow gift bag, one plant from the pop-up garden.
Dinner is GA seating at the community tables.
If you want to skip dinner but still support the cause, you could also opt for a Beer and Bites Tastes package for just $20.00 that includes access to the cocktail hour.
Oh, and if you’d like to win your way into free tickets, Live Nation has a contest you can enter via their website for a pair of complimentary GA tickets. Check the link for details.
