South Coast Botanic Garden’s upcoming butterfly experience, SOAR, is set to open on April 1 with a new pavilion featuring live tropical butterflies.

The experience begins outside in SCBG’s new garden space, which is filled with butterfly-attracting super blooms. Throughout SOAR, guests will get an inside look into the life cycle of butterflies and learn interesting facts about the beautiful winged creatures. Once inside the dome pavilion, guests will have a chance to encounter butterflies and observe them in their natural habitat.

SOAR will run through Nov. 31. The Spring exhibit (April 1-July 31) will feature tropical butterflies, while the Fall exhibit (Aug. 1-Nov. 31) will feature Monarch butterflies.

Tickets to SOAR are on sale now. They’re $22 for adults, $18 for seniors (62+) and students, $12 for children (5-12), $7 for toddlers (2-4), and $5 for SCBG members. Remember, entry is timed and tickets must be purchased in advance. The time you select when you buy your garden ticket is also your time to enter the butterfly pavilion for SOAR. Afterward, you’ll have access to the 87-acre botanic garden. Guests are also permitted to arrive 30 minutes before their timed entrance to the pavilion.
