If you’re looking for walkable districts in Los Angeles, Broxton Plaza is one of the best to get your steps in. The 14,000 square feet of pedestrian friendly space between Kinross and Weyburn lies in the heart of Westwood Village, just a short walk from the campus of UCLA, and filled with dining options and drink spots (Boondocks Coffee Roasters is one of our faves). There is also a slew of recurring event programming within the plaza including a farmers market, fitness classes, a monthly flea, and of course the subject of this post: UCLA First Thursdays.
First Thursdays brings an evening of free seasonal activations to the plaza, highlighted by performances from UCLA affiliated clubs, musical groups, DJs, dance ensembles, and artists. You’ll also find an array of hands-on activities to get into, or just a chill vibe for a hangout with friends. It’s free to attend, but make sure you check the upcoming schedule to see when the next edition is popping up.
Who Might Enjoy This?
- UCLA students on a budget.
- You are a repeat visitor to the weekly farmers market in Westwood Vilalge.
- You need an excuse to visit The Hammer Museum (just down the street, always free admission).
