“Tours of historic homes” might not sound like the jam you’re looking for on Sunday. But if the idea intrigues, then there is one date above all others that you need to mark on your calendars. Every May, six museums and historic homes along the Arroyo Seco offer free admission for the annual Museums of The Arroyo Day.
Here you’ll be able to take advantage of free self-guided tours of the Gamble House, explore the Victorian homes of at Heritage Square Museum, or learn the backstory of the city of roses at the Pasadena History Museum. Other participating locations include the L.A. Police Museum, the Lummis Home, and the South Pasadena Historical Museum. All the locations will feature special activations and they’re all free to attend. Plus, there is even a free shuttle that you can hop on to get from location to location. And if you’re thinking of doing it car free, you might consider starting at Heritage Square because of its proximity to the A Line station of the same name. Enjoy!
