There are many outdoor movie options in Los Angeles, but not all of them aim will scare you equally (and depending on your disposition, that may either totally intrigue you or be a complete turn-off).

That said, this coming Friday, June 26, The Great Horror Movie Night series will screen The Strangers (2008) at Elysian Park.  Not only will you catch a scary flick as the dusk light dims, but the festivities will included monster-costumed performers running around trying to freak you out, prize giveaways, photo opportunities, and plenty of merchandize for sale.
