Disney Animation Celebration – M > All this week (Monday to Friday), El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is hosting a Disney Animation Celebration, offering the chance to see five of the brand most cherished animated classics on the big screen, including Tarzan, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Emperor’s New Groove, and the 85h anniversary edition of Pinocchio. $50 gets you tickets to all five. Free Day at LACMA – FA > The Los Angeles County Museum of Art offers free admission every second Tuesday of the month. Among the exhibitions on view now are Ritual Expressions: African Adornment from the Permanent Collection, Digital Witness: Revolutions in Design, Photography, and Film, and Imagining Black Diasporas: 21st-Century Art and Poetics. Sketch Party at Benny Boy – FA > Sketch Party’s twice-monthly drawing/drinking meet-up comes to Benny Boy Brewing this Tuesday. They’ll hook you up with sketch paper, pens, pencils, and markers, then it’s up to you to create, mingle, hang out, and enjoy BB’s solid lineup of craft beers and ciders. Flux Screenings at The Hammer – FA > On Wednesday, The Flux Screening Series returns to The Hammer for a celebration night of short films and music videos, featuring wildly inventive filmmaker presentations and performances, including the U.S. premier of Synthetic Bodies by Lucas Ortiz Estefanell. What Alliances Do We Need in Perilous Times? – M FA > Zócalo Public Square is presenting another special panel event this Thursday at ASU California Center in DTLA. This time around, Zócalo and an alliance of partners will convene two back-to-back panels to discuss how we might best ally to survive this moment in history. Los Angeles Times Columnist Gustavo Arellano moderates the first panel at 7 p.m., then Zócalo Columnist and Democracy Local Founder Joe Mathews leads the second panel at 7:45 p.m. Audiences are invited to continue the conversation with the speakers and each other at a post-event reception featuring complimentary drinks and small bites. Mariachi Fiesta! in WeHo – FA > This Thursday, the City of West Hollywood and Drag Arts Lab team up for a free one night only celebration featuring Latinx LGBTQIA+ talent. Here There Are Blueberries at The Wallis – TP > Starting Thursday, Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich’s Here There Are Blueberries begins a three week run at The Wallis. The documentary play unravels the story behind a discovered photo album from Auschwitz, shedding light on the chilling normalcy of the perpetrators while raising haunting questions about human complicity. Sip ‘n’ Succs Disco Ball Succulent Workshop – M > Hop over to Angel City Brewery this Thursday for a fun-filled evening of succulent planting and sipping on your favorite brews. Pasadena ArtNight – M FA > This Friday, the spring edition of Pasadena ArtNight offers free admission and special activations at 19 of the city’s arts and culture institutions. Ivy Station Night Market: St. Patrick’s Day – M FA > Ivy Station’s monthly night market kicks off St. Patrick’s Day weekend with green beer, food trucks, local artisan vendors, and music on the Ivy Station lawn in Culver City. Runs 5 to 10 p.m. and free to attend. More info here.
LA Marathon Expo -> The 40th annual Los Angeles Marathon is a weekend-long experience that includes a free two-day expo at Dodger Stadium (this Friday and Saturday), a Saturday 5K, an LA Kids Run, plus the Charity Half Marathon and of course the big race on Sunday. More info here.

Cairo Nights: Flavors Tour of Africa Dinner Series at Flavors from Afar -> Flavors from Afar kicks off its Flavors Tour of Africa Dinner Series with Cairo Nights, a four-night Ramadan experience on March 14-15 and March 21-22. Each night offers two ticketed seatings: Iftar (sunset dinner, 7-9:30 p.m.) and Suhoor (a late-night social with small bites, 9 p.m.-midnight). The Egyptian street food menu is led by Chef Khaled and guest chef Chef Amir, featuring dishes teased on Instagram like Meat and Onion Tajine, Ta’ameya, and Macarona Bechamel—with more to be announced. Founded in 2020, Flavors from Afar is more than a restaurant—it’s a mission-driven space dedicated to uniting people through food. A three-time Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient, the restaurant is a social enterprise of the Tiyya Foundation, supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and low-income immigrants in Southern California through economic opportunities and cultural storytelling. Upcoming events in the series include the Zimbabwe Independence Celebration in April, Algerian Sunsets in May, and a special Ethiopian feast in June honoring World Refugee Day.
Majordōmo + Si! Mon One Night Collaboration -> Majordōmo and Si! Mon join forces for a one-night-only culinary mashup on Wednesday, March 19. Chef Tim Mangun and the Si! Mon team is executing a bold menu, fusing Majordōmo’s Korean influences with Si! Mon’s Central American flair to create exclusive à la carte specials. Expect dishes like Tasajo Smoked Prime Rib with crispy rice and beans, crema, and kimchi; Tuna Tostada with yuca, honey yuzu dressing, and avocado; and A5 Wagyu Tartare with plantain, uni, and caviar. Matcha Month at Magnolia Bakery -> Magnolia Bakery is going all in on matcha this month with limited-time treats like banana pudding dusted with matcha powder, cupcakes topped with matcha meringue buttercream, and a three-layer matcha cake. More info here.
