Dance Revolution in DTLB – M FA > Every Tuesday in September, the Downtown Long Beach Alliance hosts a free dance party / tutorial session on the promenade between The Ordinarie Tavern and ISM Brewing. The Benson Movie Interruption – M > What’s better than seeing a terrible/awesome movie with your friends and making fun of it while you watch it? How about live commentary from some of entertainment’s funniest movie lovers. This Tuesday at Dynasty Typewriter, Doug Benson hosts a “your choice” version of his Movie Interrupted series with special guests including Drew Carey, Geoff Tate, and Sarah Silverman. Attendees are invited to bring in a Blue Ray / DVD of their choice, and the audience will vote on what to watch before the show begins. Los Feliz Night Market – FA > Every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Los Feliz Night Market brings a mix of street food options, music, and merch to the larking lot of Los Feliz Car Wash. Runs 6 p.m. to midnight. Admission is free, and it’s pet friendly. More info here.
Bear City Comedy – FA > Every Wednesday, you can catch free comedy at Que Sera in Long Beach presented by Bear City, featuring a rotating lineup of up-and-comers from Netflix, Comedy Central, HBO, and beyond. This week’s lineup features Opey Olagbaju (Comedy Central, Don’t Tell Comedy), Ramsey Badawi (The Comedy Store, Don’t Tell Comedy), Amy Silverberg (Comedy Central, Don’t Tell Comedy), Radu Bondar (Comedy Central, The Hollywood Improv), Spencer Bland (The Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv), and Pippa Spindel (The Comedy Store, DC Comedy Loft). First Wednesday Lecture at The AoP -> Every first Wednesday evening of the month, the Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a guest lecture and cocktail reception at the Pacific Visions Theater. Dance at the Museum -> The Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach is hosting series of dance classes bringing art and movement come together, with an assist from the professional instructors at Cielo Dance Events. DTLA Art Night – M FA > DTLA Art Night runs every first Thursday of the month, activating dozens of locations in Downtown’s Historic Core along Spring St. Expect 20+ artists with works on display at Emerging Gallery, a Spring Arcade Night Market with 40+ vendors, and an after party at Lost DTLA from 9 p.m. to midnight. KCRW Summer Nights at The Autry – FA TP > KCRW Summer Nights comes to the Autry Museum of the American West this Friday for another evening of of music, art, food, and drink. Expect back-to-back sets by KCRW DJs Jeremy Sole and Tyler Boudreaux, plus the museum galleries will be open late to explore, including the special exhibition Black Cowboys: An American Story. Pacific Opera Project Presents Pagliacci – M > Beginning this Friday, POP kicks off their 15th Anniversary season with an immersive production of Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, performed with a live orchestra and surrounded by the Victorian houses and historic setting of the Heritage Square Museum. First Fridays in Chinatown -> Every first Friday of the month, L.A.’s Chinatown stays open late for an evening of exploring the unique small businesses and contemporary art and culture spaces that make up the historic neighborhood. West Plaza and Chungking Road activate with local pop-up vendors, DJ-spun music, and extended hours at neighborhood art galleries (to 6 to 10 p.m.). Drunk Theatre in Santa Monica -> Bay Area import Drunk Theatre is exactly what it sounds like: A comedian downs five quick shots of whiskey and then sees if he/she/they can make through an improvised set with five (sober) counterparts. Friday Night Wine Tastings at Barnsdall Park – M > Friday night wine tasting continue at the Barnsdall Art Park West Lawn this week. Now in its 16th season tickets cost $45 and get you a flight of wines curated by Silverlake Wine, plus access to a rotation of food trucks, all supported by tunes from local DJs and sweet sunset views of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. Jazz at LACMA – FA > The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Friday Night Jazz series continues this week with another concerts at Smidt Welcome Plaza. Alfalfa x California Olive Ranch (Now through September 20) -> California Olive Ranch teams up with Jersey-born, better-for-you café chain Alfalfa for two seasonal dishes showcasing their acclaimed 100% CA-Grown Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The collab features a vibrant Summer Harvest Grain Bowl with organic arugula, farro, heirloom tomatoes, sugar snap peas, fresh corn, feta, avocado, and roasted herb chicken, all tossed in a house-made basil pesto vinaigrette. For dessert, indulge in a gluten-free Lemon Berry Olive Oil Cake with strawberries and topped with a lemon glaze. This limited-time menu is available exclusively in Los Angeles through September 20.
Little C Extends Pop Up (now through September 7) -> Crustacean Beverly Hills extends its daytime pop-up Little C—a celebration of Chef Helene An’s Vietnamese roots and five decades of culinary innovation—through September 7, 2025. Guests can savor bold Vietnamese flavors reimagined for the Crustacean table, from Chef An’s once-family-only pho to street food–inspired bites like a sizzling bánh xèo station. Pair it all with vibrant cocktails and mocktails, including the refreshing da chanh lime soda. Rustic Canyon Welcomes Top New Orleans Chefs to LA (September 4) -> Rustic Canyon in Santa Monica has teamed up with a number of celebrated New Orleans chefs for LA X LA, a dinner series spotlighting the Crescent City’s bold flavors and warm hospitality. Each event features Chef Elijah Deleon cooking alongside a guest NOLA chef for a one-night-only, à la carte menu, with proceeds supporting the Southern Smoke Foundation.
