The Music Center’s On the Record: Vinyl Fair – M FA > This Saturday, On The Record: Vinyl Fair brings a one-day celebration of all things vinyl to The Music Center’s Jerry Moss Plaza, including DJs, a sound bath lounge, a vinyl sampling station, and a lineup of 16 vinyl vendors. Victorian Horror Stories in the Dark – M > This Friday to Sunday, a three-night immersive escapade pops up on the grounds of Heritage Square Museum. Victorian Horror Stories in the Dark brings macabre tales to life, from a cursed mummy to a vampire’s forbidden love. The stories will be brought to life as guests tour four victorian Mansions on the historic site. Timed entry starts at 6 p.m. each evening. Tickets are $49.34. More info here.
L.A. County Fair -> Continuing this Thursday to Sunday, the L.A. County Fair continues its annual assortment of activities, musical performances, food and beverage offerings, rides, and more. After the Friday opener, the fair continues Thursday to Sunday through the rest of the month plus Monday, May 26. Single day, advance tickets start at $18.50-$27.50 for adults. More info here.
National Museum of the American Latino Community Night at LA Plaza – M FA > The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Latino is hosting a evening of free family-friendly entertainment at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes this Friday. Expect ands-on activities and interactive tabling with local community-based organizations, and light bites and refreshments will be also available. It all starts at 6 p.m. More info here.
Jazz at LACMA – FA > The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s annual Friday Night Jazz series is back starting in May, offering free weekly concerts at Smidt Welcome Plaza. The fun continues this Friday with a performance by the Eric Reed Trio. PLUS: Remember that LACMA is free to visit for L.A. County Residents (with I.D.) on weekdays after 3 p.m. Concert starts at 6 p.m. More info here.
18th Annual Day of Black Docs -> This Friday and Saturday, the Black Association of Documentary Filmmakers (BADWest) presents “Day of Black Docs” a screening event showcasing documentaries about the Black experience made by Black creatives. 5th Annual Community & Unity People’s Kite Festival – M FA TP > Head to Los Angeles State Historic Park this Saturday for the 5th Annual Community & Unity People’s Kite Festival. Hosted annually by Clockshop, this year’s event promises demos from kite masters, special workshops, curated snacks for purchase, and tons of colorful kites sailing through the sky. Grand Opening Celebration For the Rail to Rail Project – FA > This Saturday, L.A. Metro is hosting a community celebration to mark the grand opening of the Rail to Rail Active Transportation Corridor, a new biking/walking path in South Los Angeles that connects the Metro K Line Fairview Heights Station, the Metro J Line Slauson Station, and the Metro A Line Slauson Station. AAPI Heritage Month Celebration x Third Street Promenade – M FA > On Saturday, Third Street Promenade is hosting an all-day block party celebrating AAPI Heritage Month, featuring a vendor marketplace, live performances, tasty treats, and giveaways. Matinees on the Mountain -> Ready for a movie day with a view? Mount Wilson Observatory kicks off its Matinees on the Mountain series this Saturday with a screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey in their cozy 256-seat auditorium. Come early to explore the observatory, picnic on the grounds or grab lunch at the Cosmic Cafe before the show. The 2025 season will feature a mix of sci-fi classics, silent films, and family favorites, all screened high above the city. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. More info here.
Night at the Cube -> This Saturday, hope over head to Discovery Cube Los Angeles for an evening of adults-only fun at A Night Out at the Cube. Beverly Hills Art Show – FA TP > Over 235 artists are expected to participate in the spring edition of the Beverly Hills Art Show. Hosted this Saturday and Sunday at Beverly Gardens Park, the two-day event is free to attend and includes a wine and beer garden, demonstrating artists, children’s activities, gourmet food trucks and several community exhibits. NHM’s Bug Fair – M > This Saturday and Sunday, the Natural History Museum gets buggy with a weekend-long event highlighting exotic insect collections, bug-inspired goods, bug-tastic crafts and live animal demos. Admission is free with paid entrance to the museum. Get more info here.
Long Beach Pride -> This weekend, the 42nd Annual Long Beach Pride Festival transforms the Marina Green with an array of live music, scrumptious food, and special performances. Renaissance Pleasure Faire -> This will be the final weekend to catch the the 2025 Renaissance Pleasure at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area. Expect over 200+ artisans, merchants, and vendors, plus costume contests, games, rides, a food court and more. Last two dates are this Saturday and Sunday. Adult single-day admission starts at $44. CicLAmini – Pico Union – FA > CicLAvia’s next open streets event will be a scaled down version called “CicLAmini” featuring a modest 1.4 mile course along Pico Blvd, bookended by hubs at Pico/Normandie and Pico/Union. Expect the usual assortment of fun activations along the way with plenty of space to walk/skate/pedal to your heart’s content. It all takes place this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More info here.
Adopt + Shop at The Bloc – M FA > To celebrate National Pet Month, The Bloc is hosting a National Pet Month, Adopt + Shop event this Sunday featuring an array of pup-friendly activities. Expect dog adoptions offered in partnership with California Doodle Rescue, a special Dodgers ticket giveaway, a live DJ with the 102.7 KIIS FM street team, a pop-up Agility Course from the Easy Day K9 Academy, and more. Yeastie Boys x Netflix’s Nobody Wants This -> As part of Netflix’s FYSEE LA festival, Yeastie Boys Bagels is rolling out a two-day pop-up inspired by Nobody Wants This, the Emmy-eligible series packed with Jewish and L.A. cultural references. The custom bagel menu nods to the show’s themes and fan-favorite moments, with creations like The Hot Rabbi (soft-scrambled eggs, American cheese, avocado, and BRAVE Honey Habanero Hot Sauce on an everything bagel) and The Meet Cute (whipped ricotta, stone fruit, blackberries, wildflower honey, and fleur de sel on a toasted plain bagel).
