Sake in the Park – M > This Friday at Gloria Molina Grand Park, sip, snack, and support a good cause at Sake in the Park, an all-inclusive summer food and drink festival benefiting the Little Tokyo Service Center a local nonprofit providing social services, affordable housing, and cultural preservation to the neighborhood. Your ticket grants unlimited access to 50+ premium Japanese sakes and shōchūs, plus bites from 30+ top L.A. restaurants spanning a mix of cuisines. Expect DJ sets, live performances, and a vibrant atmosphere under the city lights—all for a great mission. Tickets are $175 per person. More info here.
The Music Center’s Dance DTLA – M FA > Free evening dance parties return to The Music Center’s Jerry Moss Plaza every Friday from June 21 through August 16. At Dance DTLA, instructors will be on hand to teach guests easy-to-follow steps, allowing everyone to get into the groove right from the jump. This Friday, the series continues with an evening of Cumbia led by Enrique Cruz of RF Dance Center. The event is always free to attend, and always all-ages. Runs 7 to 11 p.m. More info here.
Los Angeles Astronomical Society Star Pary at Mount Wilson Observatory – FA > Mount Wilson Observatory hosts a public star party this Friday where visitors can take advantage of the high elevation and (hopefully) clear skies to gaze at stellar objects through telescopes provided by the members of the Los Angeles Astronomical Society. LAAS volunteers will share views through their personal telescopes, with possible sights including globular clusters such as Hercules Cluster; nebulae such as the Dumbbell and Ring Nebula; multi-star systems such as Albireo or Double-Double; and galaxies such as the Whirlpool Galaxy and Andromeda Galaxy. Summer Salsa Nights at Ivy Station – M FA > This Friday, hop over to Ivy Station in Culver City for an evening of salsa. Dance instructor Pepe Gonzalez teaches an intro salsa lesson from 6:30 to 7 p.m., then guests can use what they’ve learned during a live set by Fermin Fusion Salsa from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Free. Outdoors. South Bay Greek Festival -> This Friday to Sunday, the South Bay Greek Festival is a three-day affair at St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach offering lots of Greek food (spanakopita, lamb chops, baklava), dancing, and fun. Entry fee is $5. More info here.
LACMA Latin Sounds – FA > This Saturday, LACMA continues their series of evening, outdoor concerts at Hancock Park (adjacent to the museum campus) with a performance by Latin band Sangre Nueva. Free to attend. Runs 5 to 7 p.m. More info here.
Pasadena Heritage Bridge Party – > This Saturday, dance, dine, and celebrate atop Pasadena’s historic Colorado Street Bridge during this once-a-year summer party. Enjoy live music across multiple stages, food and drink from local favorites, vintage car displays, and family-friendly activities—all set against a breathtaking cityscape. KCRW Summer Nights at Union Station – TP M FA > KCRW teams up with Metro Art this Saturday for a Summer Nights event at Union Station. Brijean headlines the performance lineup, bracketed by DJ sets from KCRW’s Novena Carmel and José Galván. It all takes place at the Union Station Ticket Concourse from 6 to 10 p.m. Free to attend. Afro-Latino Culture Fest at LA Plaza – M FA > On Saturday, the third annual Afro-Latino Culture Fest at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes celebrates the rich tradition of Afro-Latino(a)(x) and Caribbean cultures with an array of food vendors, Caribbean inspired cocktails, a beer garden, special vendors, community resources, and kid-friendly activities. Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles Concerts – M FA > Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles routinely offers the most prolific annual free concert series in the city, all taking place at MacArthur Park. Next up, this Saturday Medusa, No Easy Props and Zócalo unite for a night of hip-hop, turntablism, dance & community power. Glendale Chalk-A-Doodle Festival – FA > This Saturday, the Glendale Chalk-A-Doodle Festival brings a day of fun-chalk murals, doodle-making station, live music, and community art to Glendale Marketplace. More info here.
Skate is Love 2k25 – FA > Skate is Love 2k25 offers a family friendly day of skating, workshops, giveaways, and music to the parking lot of Roxanne’s, located in the California Heights neighborhood of Long Beach. There will be a limited number of loaner boards and gear available for kids as part of the mini lessons, but bringing you own is encouraged. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday It’s all free to attend and participate. More info here.
Festival Beverly Hills – FA > On Sunday, Festival Beverly Hills brings a a globally inspired arts and performance shindig to Beverly Gardens Park. Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno headlines the performance lineup, with Versa-Style Dance Company and the Filipino-American a cappella group, the Filharmonic also slated to perform. Guests can also expect workshops, puppetry, food trucks, Taiko drumming, and more. It all runs from noon to 6 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.
Sunday Sessions at Grand Park – M FA > This Sunday at Gloria Molina Grand Park, Sunday Sessions returns with an afternoon of House DJ sets along with plenty of space to dance, vibe, and picnic. Music starts at 3 p.m. Event runs till 8 p.m. Free to attend as always. More info here.
Concerts in the Dome -> Mount Wilson Observatory continues its 2025 Concerts in the Dome series this Sunday inside the legendary 100-inch telescope dome—renowned for its extraordinary acoustics. For the July event, they’ll honor the anniversary of the first moon landing with a special program featuring Sarah Gillis, the engineer and astronaut who flew to space aboard the Dragon Spacecraft in September 2024. During her mission, she performed John Williams’ “Rey’s Theme” from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and with the composer’s blessing, she’ll perform a violin and piano version live at the observatory. Two concerts will take place at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., with a reception in between. Tickets are $60. More info here.
Concerts in the Park in Manhattan Beach – FA > Manhattan Beach’s Concerts in the Park series continues every Sunday through August 31. This weekend, catch a performance by the ACME Time Machine, who will cover hits from the 50’s and 60’s. Runs 5 to 7 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Van’s Warped Tour x Long Beach Food Scene Week (July 21 – August 1)-> Vans Warped Tour is making its Long Beach return with a side of local flavor. In the lead-up to the music fest, restaurants across the city are rolling out special band-inspired menu items—each priced at $15 or less—as part of a two-week culinary takeover. Highlights include the “Smoke Two Joints Pollo” from Salva (a nod to Sublime) and an “Amber Cold Brew” inspired by 311 at Good Time. It’s a tasty mash-up of food, music, and hometown pride. HexClad Serves Up: Mr. Beef at Uncle Paulie’s Deli (July 19-20) -> For one weekend only, Chicago’s legendary Mr. Beef lands in Los Angeles for a special pop-up collab between HexClad and Uncle Paulie’s Deli. Taking place July 19–20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Beverly Grove Uncle Paulie’s location, the event brings the iconic Italian beef sandwich—made famous by The Bear—to the West Coast. The Bear’s Culinary Director and Chicago native Courtney Storer will be on-site serving her Coco’s to Go-Go Homemade Italian Ice, and limited-edition merch will be available along with a few surprise moments. Head to Angeleno Wine Co. in Chinatown this Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. for Puppies & Pour Decisions, a feel-good happy hour cohosted with Pups Without Borders.
