Many restless Angelenos are counting the days until they can leave their homes and explore all of our city’s cherished landmarks, views, and experiences. Until then, we’ll make do with virtual replacements. Today, we found a good one.

The team at Discover LA is collaborating with Hotel Erwin to present a daily #MagicHour stream of the city’s sunset. The video puts you atop the hotel looking west through a cluster of iconic palms trees to the gentle Pacific. It’s a stunning view, and one I’m sure we all wish we could see in person.

Tonight’s livestream begins at 6:35 p.m. and if it’s anything like the April 13 broadcast (embedded below), it will include a five-minute countdown and a 45-minute stream of the sun setting into the ocean, all accompanied by a collection of chill beats. Seems like the perfect way to kick off a Zoom cocktail hour with friends.
