Memorial Day weekend is just getting started, and we’re here to help you map out a marvelous Saturday in the city of angels.

Here’s how we break it down below: One great idea where you can get there by Metro, three top picks to point you in the right direction, and six other quick ideas for those who just need lots of options. Hope it helps, and hope you enjoy your day in Los Angeles.

Make Metro Part of Your Weekend

Every Wednesday we map out a guide to the best free things to do for the weekend taking L.A. Metro. For this Saturday, we recommend Open Stage at The Elysian Theater in Frogtown. Every month The Elysian offers an open invite for performers looking to workshop their ensemble (meaning three or more people) material to a live audience. The next Open Stage event is this Saturday, and even if you’re not a performer, you can attend for free to see what weird, inventive, and hilarious stuff locals have been working on. Plus, there’s free pizza before the show! Runs 2:30 to 5 p.m. Get more info and RSVP here.
