LACMA Art Parade & Block Party – M FA TP > On Saturday, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art hosts the massive, day-long LACMA Block Party to celebrate the grand opening of the brand-new David Geffen Galleries. The museum is closing Wilshire Boulevard from Curson Avenue to Fairfax Avenue to accommodate outdoor festivities, which include live art workshops, a public Art Parade showcasing mobile sculptures and costumes, a full lineup of DJ sets from artists like Flying Lotus and DJ Harvey. A special evening edition of Latin Sounds features salsa music from Roosevelt, while a street food night market curated by MAMA’S NIGHTMARKET offers diverse culinary options from vendors like Bridgetown Roti and Man Eating Plant. KCRW Summer Nights at CAAM – M FA > The California African American Museum kicks off the summer with a free, all-ages KCRW Summer Nights party to celebrate Juneteenth weekend. Attendees can hit the outdoor dance floor for live sets by KCRW DJ J.Rocc and guest DJ Monalisa, enjoy food truck eats, and grab a drink in the beer garden. The museum is keeping its galleries open for after-hours access to all current exhibitions, including Free and Queer: Black Californian Roots of Gay Liberation and The Sound of Gordon Parks.
