Make Metro Part of Your Weekend

Want to do something fun you can get to without a car? On Sunday, head to Pershing Square in DTLA for the Los Angeles Cumbia Festival, featuring Vilma Diaz y La Sonora, Grupo Sonador, Yeison Landero, and the Cumbia Fever DJs. Starts at 2 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Three Top Picks To Do This Sunday

Polliwog Concerts in the Park FA > This Sunday, head to Manhattan Beach’s Polliwog Park Amphitheater for a performance by pin up singing group Satin Dollz who will bring their unique WWII USO camp style show to the city of Manhattan Beach. Free to attend. Starts at 5 p.m. More info here.

4th of July at The Bowl with The Beach Boys -> Starting this Sunday, The Beach Boys (the Mike Love version) come to the Hollywood Bowl for back-to-back-to-back days of 4th of July concerts, each capped by a dynamic fireworks show soundtracked by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Special guest John Stamos will be there too. Starts at 7:30 p.m. on July 2, 3, and 4. Kids 12 and under are half off. More info here.

Pasadena City College Flea Market -> Every first Sunday of the month, 400+ vendors come to the Pasadena City College parking lot for a monthly flea market. Runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.m and admission is free. More info here.

Six More Things To Do in L.A. Today

  • This Friday to Sunday, the 626 Night Market is back at its flagship location at Santa Anita Park with over 300 food, merch, and craft vendors.
  • Uptown Flea is hosting a Night Market in Whittier this Saturday and Sunday featuring 200 vendors and DJ’d music. FA
  • Booptown comes to Boomtown Brewery on a Sunday, an adoption event and with special vendors in collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society. Runs to 1 to 5 p.m.
  • SPLASH is a Sunday afternoon pool party at Ace Hotel Upstairs Bar, beginning at 3 p.m. Free admission.
  • Every week, Downtown’s Central Library offers free hour-long docent tours where guests learn about the history, architecture, and art contained at the LAPL’s flagship location. Next one is this Sunday at 2 p.m.
  • Every first Sunday of the month, The Crow in Santa Monica hosts Party On!, which a a lineup of comics to speak to their unique experience of recovery.
