BET Experience (June 5-8) ->  The BET Experience returns with four days of music, culture, and community leading up to the 2025 BET Awards. Catch performances by Buju Banton, The Roots, Lil’ Kim, Redman & Method Man, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Raekwon, and more at iconic venues like the Hollywood Palladium, Hollywood Bowl, and YouTube Theater. More info here.

Late Night at Skirball! Dirty Dancing (June 6) -> The Santa Monica Mountains transform into the Catskills for one night only as the Skirball Cultural Center presents Late Night! Dirty Dancing. This after-hours celebration spotlights the exhibition, Away in the Catskills: Summers, Sour Cream, and Dirty Dancing by Marisa J. Futernick—which features a series of fifteen prints capturing the pleasure and freedom that families like Futernick’s experienced in the Catskills. The evening event will include food trucks, dance lessons, shuffleboard courts, drag bingo, and late-night access to the Skirball exhibitions. GA tickets are $18. Get more info here.

NHM First Fridays (June 6) – M > Natural History Museum’s signature monthly series returns in June with an emphasis on experiencing sound they call AMPLIFIED. The event includes DJ sets in the nature garden, pop-up sound experiences throughout the museum, plus a discussion on music and the mind. First Fridays run 5 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25. Santa Monica History Museum & Gabrielino-Tongva Springs Foundation (June 6) -> The Santa Monica History Museum and the Gabrielino-Tongva Springs Foundation are teaming up for a free day of cultural exploration celebrating Indigenous heritage and the rich local history of the region, hosted at Kuruvungna Sacred Springs and Cultural Center. There will be a guided tour of the sacred site along with free access to the museum’s current exhibitions. More info here.

Frogtown First Fridays (June 6 ) – FA > Frogtown First Fridays is back and celebrating Pride month with special activations at a host of participating venues adjacent to the L.A. River Path. Guests can see new art exhibits, enjoy free or low-cost art activities, giveaways, DJ’s and live music. Runs 5 to 10 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Friday Night Wine Tastings at Barnsdall Park (June 6 – September 26) – M > Friday night wine tasting events are back at the Barnsdall Art Park West Lawn starting June 6. Now in its 16th season tickets cost $45 and get you a flight of wines curated by Silverlake Wine, plus access to a rotation of food trucks, all supported by tunes from local DJs and sweet sunset views of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. The series continues every Friday through September 26. All proceeds support programming within the Park. More than ever, this event will provide essential funding to help sustain Barnsdall Art Park amidst the City of Los Angeles’s newly proposed budget cuts, which put much of the site’s cultural programming at risk. Jazz at LACMA (every Friday in June) – FA > The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s annual Friday Night Jazz series continues this June, offering free weekly concerts at Smidt Welcome Plaza. And remember that LACMA is free to visit for L.A. County Residents (with I.D.) on weekdays after 3 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. More info here.

Last Remaining Seats (June 7-21) -> The Los Angeles Conservancy’s annual series Last Remaining Seats features classic film screenings in some of Los Angeles’ most beautiful and historic movie theaters, including Million Dollar Theatre, the Orpheum Theatre, and Los Angeles Theatre. “Totally Awesome!” at the Petersen (June 7) -> The Petersen Automotive Museum is throwing it back this summer with Totally Awesome! Cars and Culture of the ’80s and ’90s, a new exhibit opening June 7. Housed in the Mullin Grand Salon, it’s the museum’s first large-scale retrospective dedicated to the iconic style and cultural impact of those decades. Expect a rad lineup of concept cars, production models, motorcycles, and vehicles from classic film and TV—plus interactive throwbacks like vintage video games and tech. On view through April 2026. LACMA Latin Sounds (June 7, 14, 21) – FA > LACMA is bringing a series of Saturday evening, outdoor concerts at Hancock Park (adjacent to the museum campus) with world-renowned artists performing everything from Indigenous music to sounds from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Los Angeles. Cinespia (Saturdays in June) -> Cinespia’s June lineup of outdoor movie screenings at Hollywood Forever Cemetery includes Once Upon a Time in Hollywood on June 7, Showgirls on June 14, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on June 21, and Casablanca on June 28. Street Food Cinema (select dates through September 6) -> You know summer is getting close when Street Food Cinema gets back in the swing of things. The longtime outdoor movie series is back starting in May with a weekly schedule (every Saturday) that includes stops at The Autry and L.A. State Historic Park. Upcoming films include Wicked (May 10, Anora (May 17), 9 to 5 (May 24) and To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (May 31). Advanced GA tickets start at $22. The 29th Annual Gilmore Heritage Auto Show (June 7) –FA > The 29th Annual Gilmore Heritage Auto Show comes to the Original Farmers Market. This years theme is LA Strong: A Tribute to American Muscle Cars. More info here.

American Indian Arts Festival (June 7-8) -> The Autry’s 34th annual American Indian Arts Festival returns this June, celebrating the rich culture of Native American art and performance. Enjoy live music, traditional dancing, workshops, printmaking, conversations on Indigenous design, and hands-on activities. Event tickets also grants access to all the Autry’s museum galleries. Puppets in the Park (June 8) – FA > The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and Bob Baker Marionette Theater Join present a magical morning of puppetry on Hollyhock House’s west lawn. There will be two 30-minute shows (9:30 and 11 a.m.) buffered by by art activities led by Barnsdall Junior Arts Center instructors. It’s all free to attend, no ticket required. More info here.

55th Annual LA Pride ParadeM FA > The biggest event of the weekend is this Sunday’s annual LA Pride Parade & Block Party, which runs along portions of Hollywood Blvd, Cahuenga Blvd, Sunset Blvd, and Highland Ave. The event will include over a hundred floats, plus a Hollywood Blvd street fair from Argyle to mid-Bronson Ave. Free to attend. Out Block Party (June 8) – M FA > Angel City Brewery teams up with  GLAAD, Makeshift Muse, DTLA Proud and Truly LA for a Pride-focused afternoon block party featuring unique vendors, a drag show, aura readings, live music and more. Happening from noon to 7 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Monrovia Music Fest (June 8) – FA > The 8th annual Monrovia Music Fest brings a day of family fun to Monrovia Library Park with live band performances, activities, food trucks, and an artisan market. Free to attend. Runs noon to 7 p.m. More info here.

Sound Bath & Lunch at JACCC’s Japanese Garden (June 9) – M > The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in Little Tokyo hosts a sound bath and lunch set in its tranquil Japanese garden, where lush greenery and a cascading waterfall create the perfect retreat. The experience begins with a 60-minute sound bath led by holistic practitioner Iris Esmerelda, designed to promote deep relaxation through healing vibrations. Afterward, guests can enjoy lunch in the garden with offerings like Tofu Katsu Sandos, Brown Butter Hojicha Cookies, and matcha drinks made with Uji tea leaves from Kyoto. Tickets are $35 per person. Hollywood Fringe Festival (June 12-29) -> The Hollywood Fringe Festival returns this summer with hundreds of comedy shows, ensemble plays, dance performances, and immersive experiences taking over venues like Zephyr Theatre, The Broadwater, and Three Clubs. Summer of Salsa (June 13) – M FA > LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes’ Summer of Salsa returns for the first installment of 2025, offering monthly dance parties one Friday per month through September. Progressive dance orchestra Rumbankete kicks off the series on Friday, May 9. Free to attend. More info here.

Outdoor Movies at Skirball Cultural Center (June 13 + 27) -> The Skirball’s annual outdoor movies series returns this June with a screening of Black Panther on June 13, followed by Captain America: The First Avenger on June 27. Guests are invited to come early to view the latest Skirball exhibition Jack Kirby: Heroes and Humanitywhich delves into the six-decade career of legendary comic book artist Jack Kirby. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the film begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets start at $18. More info here.

Hammer Opening Celebration (June 13) – FA > The Hammer is staying open late to celebrate the launch of the new Noah Davis exhibition. Expect after-hours gallery access, plus music in the courtyard all evening, and food/drinks available for purchase. Free to attend, but admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. KCRW Summer Nights at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (June 13) – FA > The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and KCRW are hosting a party with music sets from KCRW DJs and access to the aquarium. Guest will also get to hatch grunion eggs, explore tidepool animals, marvel at life-sized inflatable whales and head to the beach to witness the fascinating grunion run. Shakespeare By the Sea (starting June 13) – FA > The 28th anniversary season of Shakespeare By the Sea kicks off in June at The Bandshell at Recreation Park in Long Beach with productions of Shakespeares As You Like It  and Julius Caesar. All shows are free to attend, but donations are gladly accepted. Performances run at locations throughout L.A. and Orange County through July 26. More info here.

Pride Night at The Aquarium of the Pacific (June 13) – M > In partnership with The LGBTQ Center Long Beach, the Aquarium of the Pacific is celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with an all ages event featuring drag queen storytelling, rainbow themed activities and much more. DTLA Dog Days (June 13) – M FA > DTLA Dog Days pops up at Maguire Gardens at the Los Angeles Central Library. The free event features dog-friendly vendors, activities, photo ops, and live music. Highlights include a community dog walks and specialty drinks from Settecento for humans. More info here.

TARFEST: A Day in the Park (June 14) – FA TP > The 22nd edition of TARFEST pops up at Pan Pacific Park for a one-day festival featuring a diverse line up of musical performances, free art-making activities, artisan booths and local food trucks. More info here.

Bollywood Express at Union Station (June 14) – FA TP > Union Station lights up with South Asian flair for Bollywood Express, a free evening celebration presented by Metro Art. From 7–10 p.m., enjoy a high-energy set by Blue13 Dance Company, beats from DJ Sandeep Kumar and Dholnation, intricate henna art, and flavorful South Asian eats—all inside the station’s historic Ticket Concourse. Pasadena Chalk Festival (June 14-15) – M FA > The Pasadena Chalk Festival returns to The Paseo for a two day-long event featuring art and music featuring some 200 murals and over 500 artists  This event is free to attend. More info here.

Movies Under the Stars (June 14 + 28) –FA > Old Pasadena shopping mall One Colorado is hosting Movies Under the Stars on select Saturdays for the months of June, July and August. The series opens on June 14 with a showing of WICKED. Public seating is free and first-come, first-served. There is also a VIP option for $50. More info here.

Off the 405 (June 14) – FA > The Getty’s annual after-hours concerts series offers four dates for the summer of 2025, including a June 14 performance by Guatemalan cellist, composer, and vocalist Mabe Fratti. You’ll need to pre-register for free to attend, and remember that parking is $10 after 6 p.m. on Saturdays. More info here.

KCRW Summer Nights (multiple dates) – FA > KCRW’s signature summer dance party series kicks off this June with stops at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (June 13), Chinatown Central Plaza (June 14), California African American Museum (June 20), and LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes (June 28). Concert For A Cause at Tree People (June 14) -> TreePeople and Ever Clothing team up for a special concert to benefit Tree People’s Wildfire Resilience Fund. Concert for a Cause will take place under the stars at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre and features a variety of local artists including Priscilla Ahn and Max Gomez. Grand Performances (starting June 14) – M FA > Outdoor concerts in the heart of downtown on Fridays (and some Saturdays) from June to August. This year’s Grand Performances kicks off with Ozomatli’s 30th anniversary on June 14, to be followed by a diverse schedule of performances, including an evening highlighting John Coltrane, an orchestral celebration of Dr. Dre and more. Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance (June 15) – FA > Get up-close with some of the world’s most luxurious vehicles at this annual free car show in the heart of Beverly Hills. Free to attend. More info here.

Bloomsday 2025 (June 16) – FA > The Hammer celebrates author James Joyce and his novel Ulysses with Bloomsday, a theatrical blend of staged readings and performances all centered around the author’s most iconic work. More info here.

The Music Center’s Dance DTLA (starting June 20) -> Free evening dance parties return to The Music Center’s Jerry Moss Plaza every Friday from June 21 through August 16. At Dance DTLA, instructors will be on hand to teach guests easy-to-follow steps, allowing everyone to get into the groove right from the jump. The 2025 schedule features six events each themed for a different style of dance: Bollywood, Afrobeats, Salsa, Cumbia, Reggaeton, and Disco. The event is always free to attend, and always all-ages. Venice Fest (June 21) – FA > Head to Venice Fest for a day of fun for all ages featuring local bands, yoga, games, and classic cars on display. There’s also a beer garden and food trucks to refuel. Runs noon to 7 p.m. free to attend. More info here.

Matinees on the Mountain (June 21) -> Ready for a movie day with a view? Mount Wilson Observatory continues its Matinees series this June with a program of Sci-Fi Silent Shorts presented in a cozy 256-seat auditorium. Come early to explore the observatory, picnic on the grounds or grab lunch at the Cosmic Cafe before the show. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. More info here.

SaMo Pride Festival (June 21) – M FA > Santa Monica Pride Festival will throw a block party on Third Street Promenade with live music, themed snacks, games, swag, community booths and more. The event is free to attend and all ages are welcome. More info here.

Garagiste Wine Festival (June 21) -> Garagiste Festival is Los Angeles’ only wine festival that exclusively features wines from commercial California ‘garagiste’ winemakers. The wines are poured by the winemakers or owners themselves at the festival offering a rare opportunity to meet the sources behind the wine. Ticket prices range from $75-$139. More info here.

CicLAvia Historic South Central Meets Watts (June 22) – M FA > L.A.’s signature open streets comes to Central Ave this June, offering a 6.4 mile course connecting Historic South Central, Florence Firestone, and Watts. Per usual, expect the usual assortment of activity hubs and activations, plus plenty of room to walk/skate/ride to your heart’s content. Runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More info here.

Mission-at-Twilight (June 22) – M FA > ActiveSGV is hosting another open streets event with a five-mile route that bridges the cities of Alhambra, San Gabriel, and South Pasadena, sprinkled throughout with live music, food, and family activities. The wrinkle this time around is the timing, with the fest scheduled to run from 3 to 8 p.m. so you can ride/walk/skate straight into the sunset. Free to attend as always. More info here.

EEEEEATSCON (June 28-29) -> The Infatuation’s signature food fest comes to the Santa Monica Barker Hangar with a bevy of top restaurants from L.A. and the East Coast under one roof, plus live music and plenty of panels. GA tickets start at $25, but you’ll still have to pay for food samples once you’re inside. Get more info here.

Pier 360 (June 28-29) – M FA > This two-day, all-ages, free festival hosted at the Santa Monica Pier features ocean sports competitions, interactive games, a beer garden and plenty of live music on both days. More info here.

Concerts in the Dome (June 29) – TP > Mount Wilson Observatory continues its 2025 season of concerts hosted inside the historic 100-inch telescope dome, where the acoustics are said to be some of the finest in the world. For June, cellists Cécilia Tsan and Allan Hon will perform two concerts, one at 3 p.m. and the other at 5 p.m., with a reception sandwiched in between. Tickets are $60. Get more info here.
