If there’s one problem with sucking down a delicious, briny oyster it’s that when eat one, you’ll inevitably want about a dozen more.
And trust me, I’m well aware from personal experience just how expensive that can get.
Lucky for all us many of our city’s best restaurants host happy hours with oysters at bargain basement prices.
So with that in mind we searched high and low for some of the best oyster deals in town to help guide you (and us) when the hankering for these bivalves just gets too strong.
The result? An expansive list of oyster hotspots from the Eastside to the Westside to the Valley and beyond.
Bottom line: Finding an oyster happy hour in Los Angeles just got a lot easier 😉
1. Herringbone (Santa Monica)
Freshly shucked $1 oysters can be found Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Herringbone’s bar and lounge area during Oyster Hour with drink specials starting at $5.
2. L&E Oyster Bar (Silver Lake)
Oyster Director and Chef Spencer Bezaire selects a dozen oysters during happy hour every day from 5-7 p.m. for $26. Pair them with $4-$5 beers, $8 wines and a curated selection of discounted bar bites. Note happy hour is only available in the Upstairs bar area of the restaurant.
3. Harlowe (West Hollywood)
Mondays are $1 oyster nights starting at 5 p.m. till close. It’s also ladies night which means happy hour prices on drinks all night long too.
4. MessHall Kitchen (Los Feliz)
On Tuesdays, MessHall prices their oysters at just $1 after 5 p.m. and they don’t stop there, MessHall tacos are also just a buck! Order a $5 draft beer to wash it all down.
5. The Rockefeller (Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach)
$1 Oyster Mondays happens every week from when they open till they sell out for the day.
6. La Bohème (West Hollywood)
The classic West Hollywood restaurant hosts a special bar menu daily from 5 p.m. to close where you can find $1 oysters as well as $3 small bites. Only available at the bar and lounge area.
7. Upstairs Bar at the Ace Hotel (Downtown)
Enjoy the view of the DTLA skyline while throwing back a couple $1 oysters served with a white balsamic cucumber mignonette, Monday through Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m.
8. Pearls Sunset Strip (West Hollywood)
Tuesdays are $1 oyster night from 5 p.m. until they run out. Choose from fried, grilled or chilled.
9. Terrine (Beverly Grove)
$1 oysters can be enjoyed daily at Kris Morningstar’s restaurant from 5:30 – 7 p.m. also order up the famous chicken liver toast for $7 and escargots for $11 you won’t regret it!
10. Día de Campo (Hermosa)
Three oysters for $5 from 5 to 7 p.m. during Bandito Power Hour come on a Tuesday and score oysters for $1 each. The happy hour menu also includes dishes like crispy brussels sprout nachos, bean and cheese pupusa, a delicious mahi bowl and more.
11. The Lobster (Santa Monica)
During their “Happiest Hour” Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. you can dine on $2 oysters and a variety of seafood centric eats like crab taquitos and lobster rolls.
12. Knuckle & Claw (Santa Monica, Silver Lake)
The “Go Shuck Yourself” $1 oyster special runs on Thursdays from 5 to 10 p.m.
13. Bar Bouchon (Beverly Hills)
Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. dine on $2 oysters at Thomas Keller’s beautiful Beverly Hills spot.
14. Figaro Bistrot (Los Feliz)
Happy hour is daily at this French inspired eatery where oysters are $2 a pop. On Monday specials run 4 to 10:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday and Satruday from 10 to 11 p.m.
15. Oystars (Little Tokyo)
With a name like that you better believe they have plenty of oysters. Stop by between 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. where can score Chefs Choice $1 oysters daily.
16. Wildcraft (Culver City)
Every Wednesday is $1 oyster night from 5 to 7 p.m. be sure to take advantage of the drink happy hour prices too.
17. Santa Monica Seafood (Santa Monica)
This seafood market serves up a variety of $2 oysters in their cafe at the bar Monday through Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. Other happy hour items include crab cakes, fritto misto and ceviche for around $5.
18. Barbrix (Silver Lake)
On Mondays Barbrix offers three types of oysters for $1 at the bar from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30pm. Check out their “specials” page for featured oysters every week. You might want to come early this night is so popular they sometimes run out of oysters.
19. The Hungry Cat (Hollywood)
The Hungry Cat’s Hollywood location serves up $1 oysters all day long on Mondays.
20. Blue Plate Oysterette (Beverly Grove)
It’s Oyster Hour Monday to Friday 4 to 6 p.m. at Blue Plate Oysterette in West Hollywood. The oyster deal is six oysters grilled, fried or on the shell for $10. Drinks on special include $6 beers, wines and sangria.
21. Hermosa Beach Fish Shop (Hermosa Beach)
Thursday is $1 Oyster Night starting at 4 p.m. and going until they’re all shucked out. The fish shop will bring in a variety of oysters to choose from every week.
22. Kravings (Tarzana)
Everyday is happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. and on some days they even have a late night happy hour (Wednesday through Saturdays from 9 p.m. to close) it all happens at the bar. Choose from a HUGE list of happy food and a choice of Blue Points for $1.50 or Kumamoto for $2.50 both served with cocktail sauce and mignonette.
23. EMC Seafood & Raw Bar (Various Locations)
This seafood hotspot draws crowds with their deal on happy hour oysters modestly priced at $1 from 4 to 7 p.m. daily. Happy hour draft beer and wine are also on special for $5. EMC also has a reverse happy hour which runs Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to close.

24. Cliff’s Edge (Silver Lake)
Hidden off the bustling streets of Sunset in Silver Lake is Cliff’s Edge. Thursday’s is oyster night from 6 to 7 p.m. with oysters priced at $1. There are usually two to three types of oysters to choose from.
25. Portsmouth (Whittier)
Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and all night Tuesdays where you can score oysters for $1.50.
26. Connie & Teds (West Hollywood)
Michael Cimarusti’s seafood focused restaurant located in West Hollywood hosts a happy hour thats geared towards shellfish. From Monday through Friday 4 to 7 p.m. available only at the bar folks can score half a dozen oysters for $10, $5 fried oyster roll, $6 scallop dogs and more.
27. Sawyer (Silver Lake)
You can score a half dozen oyster + wine or beer combo for just $12 during Sawyer’s daily happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m.
28. Cerveteca (Downtown)
Cerveteca in the Arts District in DTLA offers a raw bar with daily $1 happy hour oysters from 4 to 6 p.m. with the addition of food like street style dogs, tacos and chicken wings.
29. Bar10 (West Hollywood)
$1 oysters can be found every single day during happy hour at this WeHo bar from 5 to 8 p.m weekdays and 4 to 8 p.m. on weekends there’s even $4 beers and $7-$8 small plates.
30. Fish On Tap (Pasadena)
Score $1 oysters during happy hour 5 to 7 p.m. everyday at this seafood centric spot.
