Reserve FREE Tickets to the Broad Museum Opening Starting at 10am Tomorrow (Monday!)

August 30, 2015 by Brian Champlin

[UPDATE 12:15pm 8/31/15:  I guess demand was a bit too much for the Broad’s servers as they left the following message on their site: *Due to overwhelming demand, our ticketing system is currently down. We will update this section with more information. If you’d like to receive an email when the issue is resolved, please enter your email here.**]

It’s been a long time coming (with a few delays in the process) but The Broad is finally set to open on September 20.

Want to go?

Well, general admission to The Broad is/will be free, but advance reservations are heavily encouraged to guarantee admission on high-demand dates/times, and opening night should be about as busy as it ever gets.

So how do you reserve?

Well, the reservation system goes live on Monday, August 31 at 10:00am, and it will allow guests to secure  timed tickets (up to nine at a time) for any date through the rest of the calendar year, including opening night.

A time table for 2016 reservations is not in place yet, but should be coming soon.

The opening of the museum will feature an inaugural installation that includes a chronological selection of masterworks from the Broad collections, including works by Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly, Roy Lichteh, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cindy Sherman, Keith Haring, Barbara Kruger, and Jeff Koons, plus a nine-screen video piece by Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson, and an 82-foot-long painting by Takashi Murakami.
