Here’s a Cheatsheet of Free Museum Days in L.A. For February 2023

The big news for next month is that the SoCal Museum Free-For-All is back on the February 5. This year’s lineup of participants includes over 30 names, including The Academy Museum, the La Brea Tar Pits Museum, the Museum of Latin American Art, and Descanso Gardens, among others.

Word to the wise: “free” does not equal unlimited tickets, so I expect many of the bigger draws (like The Academy Museum) to sell out of freebie spots well in advance. It looks like all of the museums are doing their own ticketing for the promotional day, so you’ll have to poke around individual websites to see what’s available and what’s sold out. In any case, reserving beforehand will save you grief.

That said, if February 5 is a no-go and you prefer not to visit any of the places on the cheatsheet below, make sure to review our big list of free museum days here (including The Getty, The Broad, etc..). There’s got to be somewhere you haven’t been yet, right? Onward!
