The Coolest Front Yard Christmas Lights Show You’ll Ever See Starts This Friday in Sherman Oaks

Posted by

Sherman Oaks resident Mike Ziemkowski takes his Christmas decorating a bit more seriously than you,  and that’s perfectly fine by us.

Since moving to Los Angeles in 1999 Mike (a professional video editor by day)  has taken his childhood passion for Christmas decorating to amazing heights, with an annual Christmas lights display that rivals any professional show you’ll ever see.

Over the years he’s added more and more elements to the mix, from computer controlled lighting to DMX controlled intelligent light to animatronic characters synched to an epic preprogrammed playlist of holiday tunes (including all-too-cute recurring characters like DJ Jingles).

But words don’t really do it justice. Take a look for yourself below…

Mike calls the annual tradition Lights on Display, and in 2014 (video above) he added over 12,000 LEDs to the show.

According to the Lights on Display Facebook page for 2015 the spectacle will include a whole new show with a brand new Santa Claus animatronic plus a new Pix-Z-Tree.

Basically, bigger and better than ever.

And it starts this week!

This season’s Lights on Display starts on Friday, November 27, 2015 and runs until January 1, 2016.

The show will go nightly from 5:00 to 10:00pm, and 5:00pm to 12:00am on Christmas Eve/Day and New Year’s Eve.

The address is 3901 Longview Valley Rd, Sherman Oaks, California. Keep in mind it’s a residential neighborhood so you may have to park further up the street or on adjacent blocks if you want to walk over to watch.

Inclement weather may cause the the display to close on certain days.

We recommend checking the Lights on Display Facebook page for announcements regarding weather related closings.

Happy holidays!
