Metro to Offer Free Rides on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve

Thinking about getting a little tipsy on Christmas Eve or New Years Eve in Los Angeles? Maybe no one in your group wants to volunteer as the designated driver for the evening? Or perhaps you’re just looking to save some dollars…

In any of the above cases, why not take Metro, which will be offering free public transit service on both these nights.

On Dec. 24th, Metro (both buses and rail) will be free from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. the following day.

On New Years Eve, Metro will offer the same free service from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. On top of that the Orange and Silver Lines will operate all night on NYE.Day passes will be valid until 3 a.m.

Keep in mind that on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Metro will be using a limited Sunday/holiday schedule, so plan accordingly.
