Tucked into the hills of East Hollywood, Barnsdall Park is an 11-acre cultural hub and Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument that’s home to the iconic Hollyhock House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, a theater, and an open green space perfect for peaceful lounging.

It’s also where you’ll find the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, a 10,000 square foot space that hosts rotating exhibitions featuring arts and artists of Southern California. Currently on view you’ll find Step & Repeat, a group exhibition curated by Nancy Meyer and John Weston featuring 46 SoCal artists whose work reimagines the power of pattern and decoration. Also on view is Danila Cervantes’s Laberintos de huesos floreciendo, the debut solo show for the L.A.-based artist. Both shows run through May 18, 2025.

When the weather warms up, the park also plays host to outdoor movie nights, lawn parties, wine tastings, and cultural festivals—so there’s always a reason to stop by. Just make sure to verify the gallery isn’t closed in between exhibition installations.
