Plan Check Santa Monica is scheduled to open on Oct. 15. The fourth location, located off Ocean Avenue, will offer an exclusive menu of seafood focused Japanese and Korean comfort inspired dishes. Folks can look forward to Lobster Roll, Korean Cioppino and a Nashville Hot Fish Sandwich.

A taste of Italy is coming to Uptown Whittier this week by way of Ravello Bar & Grill, the latest addition to popular restaurant row on Greenleaf Avenue. The menu, executed by Chef Carlos Escalante, will highlight Amalfi Coast flavors through local and farm-fresh ingredients on SoCal. Menu items include antipasti, homemade pastas, Neapolitan-style brick oven-baked pizzas, grilled meats, fresh seafood, and decadent desserts.

Gardel’s Argentine Steakhouse is celebrating their 20th anniversary of serving world-class Argentine fare this month. Family owned and operated, they proudly serve USDA Certified Prime cuts of Certified Angus Beef and a selection of offal eats like Argentine Chorizo, Morcilla (a decadent blood sausage) and Mollejas de Ternera (grilled veal sweetbreads.) All meats are butchered in house, now, that’s old school!

Oktoberfest is in the air, and this Saturday at the Rose Bowl you will find over 50 breweries and vendors at Pasadena Oktoberfest.

Speaking of Oktoberfest, a Vegan Oktoberfest is happening at LA Center Studios VIP tickets are sold out, but general admission passes are available for $45 which include unlimited samples and three full pours.

Celebrate Latino Heritage Month this Thursday at Union Station at Taste of Xococatl, a food and beer fest featuring L.A.-based chocolatiers, bakers, and dessert makers along with select samples from Angel City Brewery, including a coffee chocolate stout. Admission is free!

The 2nd Annual Burbank Beer Fest is back this Saturday taking over the streets of downtown Burbank with two separate three-hour sessions starting at noon.

LAMILL Coffee in Silver Lake just launched a new menu featuring a veggie burger, expanded sides, new salads, and a whole new section named “Snacks & Sweets.”

Must hit up place of the week goes to…

Feastly and InHouse Theatre are collaborating for a “Dinner With Friends” immersive dining experience. The four-dinner affair centered on food and exploration will run Oct. 13,14,15,19. Chefs Becky Reams and Jean Valcarcel will prepare the meals. Tickets start at $85 and feature a multi-course menu inspired by the play. Highlights include Kabocha Squash Tartine with red miso jam, beet and mustard green; Black Cod with chili crab broth and blistered haricot vert; and Lemon Almond Butter Cake with sweet corn infused cream.
