Top picks for Mother’s Days Weekend

Broken Spanish will be hosting it’s first brunch ever, on Mother’s Day. Highlights include 3 Leches French Toast, Chicharron Con Huevos, Huevos Rancheros with Heirloom Tortillas, Chilaquiles, Guajillo-Stewed Chicken and more.

Plant-based restaurant Crossroads  will host a Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet ($55 per person; $15 for kids under 12 years of age) featuring favorite signature dishes such as Bagel and “Lox,” Chicken and Waffles, the Crossroads Benedict and more. Fresh muddled Blackberry Mimosas and a roving Bloody Mary cart will help you toast to mom and for dessert there’s a “build-your-own” Parfait Bar.

There’s a special Mother’s Day Brunch menu at Herringbone Santa Monica in addition to the robust weekend brunch menu.

All mothers will get a FREE Purista Margarita at Gracias Madre this Sunday and guests can dine on the organic plant based brunch menu featuring highlights such as Spring Empanadas and a Raspberry Shortcake.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Ocean Prime Beverly Hills will feature a decadent menu of Crab & Eggs, Braised Short Rib Surf & Turf, Blood Orange Mimosa and more.

Friends of the Castle Green hold a yearly Mother’s Day Tour of the Historic Castle Green built in 1898. In addition, a full service sit down Mother’s Day Tea presented by Tea Rose Garden Tearoom in Old Town Pasadena and Perfect Equation Catering will take place in the Grand Ballroom serving salad, classic tea sandwiches, pastries, scones, fruit compote and a desert plate along with a pot of seasonal tea. Guests will go home with a jar of Castle Green Marmalade or jam. Tour cost $30 and tea service cost $85 per person.

Michael’s will host a Mother’s Day prix-fixe brunch which includes a three-course menu featuring dishes such as House Ricotta with berries and granola; Soft-Scrambled Eggs with smoked salmon; and Whipped Cheesecake or Blueberry Buttermilk Sorbet for dessert. Toast to mom with a Blood Orange Granita Mimosa or Roasted Tomato Bloody Mary!

BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood will offer a buffet for $65 per person. The buffet will include a carving station for their signature 40 day dry aged New York Striploin, and appetizers, a raw seafood bar, eggs to order, dessert table, crepe station and more.

Mother’s Day will be celebrated during brunch and dinner at Firefly in Studio City. Choose from a three course meal during both dining times.

Napa Valley Grille will be offering a special three-course menu, available for $45 per person. Menu highlights include Soft Shell Crab, Braised Pork Chilaquiles and Tiramisu.

Terranea Resort in the Palos Verdes, will host a Mother’s Day Ballroom Brunch buffet featuring bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s. Cost $95 per person and $47 for kids 4-10 years old.

LA Times Food Bowl Presents: LA Times Night Market

1st Annual Los Angeles Times Night Market (May 10-14) will take over Grand Park with a free, all ages event where visitors pay al a carte as they dine. Expect 50 food booths from LA’s favorite restaurants, bars to food trucks. Guests can also purchase $10 “The Super Market” tickets, which will allow access to a selection of food vendors, additional seating areas, bars, premium lounges and entertainment.

The Eat Show Returns to The Reef in Downtown L.A.

New kid on the block The Eat Show returns to The Reef on May 13 for their second year event. Guests will get access to delicious eats from 50+ Los Angeles restaurants including Otium, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Nabi, Kato, Dino’s Chicken and Burgers, Halal Guys, Max City BBQ and more. In addition, the open bar will span over 30 feet long to accommodate as many guests as possible. This is a timed event with two sessions to choose from. Tickets are $60 and gets you four hours of access.

Ocean Prime Launches Shaken, Shucked, and Popped Friday Summer Happy Hour

Starting this Friday, May 12 Ocean Prime will kick off a new Friday happy hour called Shaken, Shucked, and Popped offering $10 cocktails shaken table-side, $1 shucked oysters, $10 glasses of Veuve Rose and more! The on-going happy hour will take place every Friday from 3 to 11 p.m. throughout the summer with live music starting at 6 p.m. and complimentary truffled popcorn.

On May 17 Ted Hopson and Ann-Marie Verdi welcomes Jet Tila into their kitchen to cook a five course collaboration dinner. Tickets cost $90 a person with an additional $35 for beverage pairing. A peek of the menu shows a bevy of Asian inspired eats like Sichuan Style Raw Snapper, Korean Mandu with Kimchi and pork, Chili Pan Mee wheat noodles and Red Braised Pork Belly.
