Got your stein ready? The end of September ushers in one of my favorite seasonal food celebrations: Oktoberfest!!! Check out details below on where to eat some quality brats and brews for this weekend.

Dirndls and lederhosens not your thing? Maybe robes and wands are more your speed.  Check out the Wizards Pub Crawl happening this Saturday, the night will have you drinking potions and rubbing elbows with witches and wizards alike as you make your way through bars, clubs and a Wizard Ball.

Other top events happening in town include a dinner, movie and jazz series at The Grove, FREE bottomless mimosas during Sunday brunch at Le Petit Paris and a Taco & Beer pairing night on the holiest of days, National Taco Day on October 4.

One of LA’s First Female Sommelier Opens a Wineshop

Recognized as one of the city’s first female sommeliers, Den Haan entered the L.A. wine world by working with Perch and The Must. Her latest venture, Vinovore will bring Haan’s unique sense of taste to Silver Lake in the form of a specialty wine shop with a strong emphasis on featuring female wine makers from around the world. Price points are approachable and on most days, certified wine expert (Haan) will be on hand to help guests find the perfect bottle!

Oktoberfest Dinner in Beverly Hills

THE Blvd in Beverly Hills just launched an Oktoberfest special happening now through October 31. Guests can enjoy locally brewed craft beers paired with German-inspired bites that include Reibekuchen (potato pancakes), Hähnchen Schnitzel, Wildschwein Wurst (wild boar sausages) and more. Prost!

Free Bottomless Mimosas

DTLA French eatery, Le Petit Paris just launched a complimentary bottomless mimosa promotion during their Sunday brunch buffet. Brunch cost $49 per person, the mimosas will be tacked on for anyone 21 and over free of charge. Cheers to that!

Angel City Brewery Celebrates National Taco Day with a Special Taco & Beer Paring

National Taco Day is October 4 and Angel City Brewery will celebrate this sacred day by perfectly pairing their awesome beers with tacos from Downtown Taco Co. Wild Boar Tacos will be paired with Double IPA, Al Pastor Taco with Wit, and Veggie or Pollo Taco with Saazberry. Beer flights are $7, and taco flights are $6.

Viviane Expands Happy Hour Times

Viviane, located in the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills just expanded happy hour times from 3 – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The menu includes seasonal cocktails like a Peach Collins and food items like cruditès, chicken sandwich, artisanal cheeses and more.

A Tasty Fundraiser to Support L.A. Kitchen

Crafted Kitchen will host a special Shared Plates dinner, featuring three unique courses by Taste of Pace and Chef Michelle & Company on October 5. The night will raise money for L.A. Kitchen’s fight against the city’s hunger and homeless epidemics through reclaiming healthy, local food, providing job training for unemployed adults and supplying healthy meals to fellow citizens. Tickets cost $75 per person and proceeds do directly to L.A. Kitchen.

Wednesday September 27th, 2017

Whisper Restaurant & Lounge at The Grove recently launched “Hollywood Jazz Nights” happening every Wednesday until October 18. The restaurant will screen a classic Hollywood film each week with a troupe of talented jazz musicians accompanying the films score. Screenings begin at 7 p.m. with happy hour before showtime from 4 – 7 p.m. This week’s movie is Rebel Without a Cause.

Thursday September 28th, 2017

The Taste of Pasadena returns to the Rose Bowl with the city’s finest restaurants and bars for a night of tastings. Tickets cost $30 till Sept. 26 and go up to $50 after. Be sure to check for $25 discount tickets before making your purchase via Goldstar.

Friday September 29th, 2017

Head over to Torrance for one of the most well-known Oktoberfest celebrations in the L.A. area! Alpine Village Oktoberfest runs Sept. 8 through Oct 28 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy traditional Bavarian food, beer, dancing, and more.

Downtown Dark Nights at L.A. LIVE will feature $5 food and drink menus from Katsya, Cleo and Lawry’s to name a few with live music, street performers, and a marketplace featuring eclectic goods from local artisans to round out the event.

Westfield Topanga will kick off their very first Night Market this Friday. Presented by California Certified Farmer’s Markets (CCFM) vendors include organic and farm fresh produce as well as freshly-cut flowers, a kids zone, food stalls, live music and much more. To celebrate the launch, first 500 guests will get a free tote bag. The Night Market will occur every Friday of each month.

There’s a Wizards Assemble Pub Crawl going down in Los Angeles. Party with wizards and witches, get fee cover at all of the wizard party bars & clubs, get access to free drinks and shots, happy hour specials, a Wizards Ball Party and other themed Wizard activities. Tickets cost $25 to $30. All participants will receive a graduation certificate once they complete the crawl.

Wurstküche will host Oktoberfest 2017 at their Venice location for three consecutive weekends starting this Saturday. There will be yodeling ladies, the band Munich Boom-Steiners, people dressed in their best dirndls and lederhosen as well as massive flows of beer. Tickets cost $15.

Sunday October 1st, 2017

Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Angel City Brewery this Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. where $1 of every SaazBerry pint sold will go to Keep A Breast, a nonprofit organization aimed at empowering young people around the globe to get educated in breast health. The event will also have DJ Kreature spining tunes and the Wheel of Boobies where guests can spin for a chance to win prizes.
