There’s always lots to do in Los Angeles, and per usual we’re here with a rundown of the best of what’s happening in the city and county.

This week, from June 21 to June 25, features a Hollywood Mystery scavenger hunt, free Jeni’s ice cream, sunset yoga, Fourth Fridays at the Broad, The Other Art Fair, a BBQ ‘meat up’ and more!

Monday / All Week

1. Hollywood Music + Mystery -> To celebrate International Make Music Day, The Hollywood Partnership is hosting a special in-person event featuring live music via the Musicians Institute plus an interactive scavenger hunt. The main hub for the festivities will be at 6201 Hollywood Blvd, adjacent to Shake Shack. Free to attend and open to the public. More info here. To sign up for the scavenger hunt, head here.

2. Free Jeni’s Ice Cream -> Celebrate the first day of summer with a free scoop at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream locations. Offer good from 7 p.m. to close on Monday at all participating Jeni’s location. Details here.

3. Sunset Yoga -> Celebrate International Yoga Day (June 21) with a group yoga session featuring skyline views at ROW DTLA. More info here.

4. Chalk Lines -> Chalk Repertory Theatre has produced a series of five immersive audio plays that explore historically diverse neighborhoods of Los Angeles, including Leimert Park, Exposition Park, and West Adams. Listeners can stream the plays at home or on location with a mobile device starting June 18. More info here.

5. RECONNECTING: A Vision of Unity -> A new exhibit by artist Kengo Kito comes to Japan House LA this Wednesday. Kito’s work takes 2,021 hula hoops to create a massive, unified art piece that explores issues of connection and re-connection in the wake of the past year’s unprecedented events. Admission is free to the gallery. Walk-ins accept, reservations are recommend. Exhibits runs from June 16 to Sep. 6. Learn more here.

6. Self Help Graphics & Art Print Fair -> Self Help Graphic’s annual art print fair is going virtual this year, with new prints released online every week in June. Browse a selection of new and limited edition serigraphs, reliefs and intaglio prints created by over twenty artists. Proceeds support the ongoing mission of Self Help Graphics and Art. 7. Pride Publics -> Pride Publics: Words and Actions brings issues of LGBTQ+ community action, struggle and progress into focus through a series of 28 large-scale posters installed on the east side of Robertson Blvd, just south of Santa Monica Blvd. The works will be on view through July 1. 8. Rooftop Cinema Club -> The drive-in at the Santa Monica Airport is holding screenings this week. Movies include Pineapple Express, The Thing, Black Panther and much more. A ticket for one vehicle with two passengers start at $32. See full details and schedule here.

9. Rainbow Road Art Walk -> To celebrate Pride month, Santa Monica place is hosting a self-guided art experience of 13 colorful installations created by LGBTQIA+ artists. Runs June 4-30. More info here.

10. Love Note -> Rogue Ensemble has a new interactive audio expedition that invites guests to Plummer Park in WeHo, now through June 30. Per a release, Love Note is an “in-real-life audio experience that guides audiences through a twisted collection of love stories, meditative romance and lost connections.” The experience is free, but a smartphone and headphones are required. Plummer Park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. More info and instructions for attendees can be found here.

11. South Coast Botanic Garden’s butterfly experience SOAR is now open to the public featuring a new pavilion with live tropical butterflies. Advance reservations are required and can be made online now.

12. StarChefs Restaurant Week -> StarChefs, the restaurant industry magazine spotlights its Rising Stars list with the launch of a Restaurant Week from June 16 through June 30 inviting the public to experience dishes, pastries, wine pairings, and cocktails at the forefront of American dining.

Tuesday

13. Holycow BBQ Meat Up -> Locals can grab a free BBQ bite at Holy Cow’s neighborhood “meat up” this Tuesday. Stop by from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pico Blvd location for a complimentary taste. One serving per person. Good until supplies run out. Details here.

14. Bar Le Côte at Anajak Thai -> Following the sold-out Bar Le Côte pop-up at Rustic Canyon, Chef Brad Mathews and team continues their pre-opening summer tour by stopping by Anajak Thai this Tuesday. Bar Le Côte will offering raw bar items like Pacific Gold Oysters with Thai mignonette and Tom Yum Gelée, Jonah Crab Claws with Pong Gari Butter and Transparent Sea Shrimp with sweet red curry. Anajak Thai will also have their Thai Taco Tuesday menu available during this pop-up. No reservations are needed, doors open at 5 p.m. and food is served on a first come basis.

15. Hollywood Roosevelt’s Tropicana Movie Nights -> The historic hotel welcomes guests to a unique movie screening experience around the iconic David Hockney-painted pool. A ticket comes with complimentary popcorn and if you dress up to the theme of the movie, you’ll also receive a free cocktail or candy bar. This week, they’ll screen The Birdcage. More info here.

Wednesday

16. Tevye in New York -> Tom Dugan, the writer and star of Wiesenthal, brings the world premiere of his newest play Tevye in New York to the outdoor performance space at the Wallis. outdoor performance space. Tickets are $75 for terrace seating. Performances run on select dates through July 25. Get more info here.

17. The Comedy Roof -> On Wednesdays the The Comedy Roof brings a socially-distanced comedy show to the rooftop of Grand Central Market. Tickets are $20. Parking is free. More info here.

18. Dances in the Open -> L.A. Dance Project returns with in-person performaces featuring two works: New Taylor, choreographed by former NYCB Principal dancer Janie Taylor, and Solo at Dusk, choreographed by Bobbi Jene Smith, in collaboration with Or Schraiber. Tickets start at $50 per person, $25 for students, and $175 for benching seating that accommodates 4-5. Happening Wednesdays to Sundays through June 25. More info and tickets here.

Thursday

19. The Other Art Fair -> Private view tickets for Thursday cost $45. General entry tickets for Friday through Sunday are $15 per person (when purchased in advance, online). Read more info and get tickets here.

20. Elsewhere At the Madcap Motel  -> The retro space features over a dozen rooms full of interactive and photo-friendly moments interwoven with a sci-fi narrative. Runs Thursday through Sunday through the end of June. Read We Like L.A.’s full write-up on the experience here.

Friday

21. Fourth Fridays at The Broad -> As part of The Broad’s monthly Fourth Friday series, the museum will be open for extended hours on June 25 from 5 to 8 p.m., and live entertainment will be hosted on the East Bank Plaza. More info here.

22. Daily Harvest @ The Line Hotel -> Sample a menu of summer-inspired Daily Harvest goodies poolside at The Line Hotel in Korea Town. Bites include a menu of boozy smoothies, flatbreads, and decadent dairy-free scoops, compliments of the health focused and time saving delivery service. Free and open to the public Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

23. Dodgers Fanfest at Angel City Market in Inglewood -> Over a dozen vendors will offer Dodger-inspired goods while T.V.’s will be set up to broadcast Friday’s game versus the Cubs. Pet friendly and family friendly. Free to attend. More info here.

24. The Groundlings Pride Panel -> Members of the Groundlings Sunday Company host a special panel on the journey of working in the entertainment industry as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. $5 to attend, with proceeds to benefit the Groundlings Diversity fund. More info here.

25. Marina Drive-In Movies -> The Marina Del Rey drive-in movie series continues this weekend with two nights of screenings. Dora & The Lost City of Gold and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story play Friday followed by The Princess & The Frog and Ghost on Saturday night. Tickers run $20 per car (includes all passengers), max 8 people per vehicle. See the full schedule for the season and reserve a spot here.

Dining

26. Frozen Treats at Playa Provisions -> Brooke Williamson’s Westside restaurant Playa Provisions is now serving popsicles, sundaes and booze-infused sorbets inside their Small Batch Ice Cream Bar. Highlights include a rainbow striped coconut pops, strawberry absinthe sorbet and house made choco tacos.

27. Lucky Bird -> Grand Central Markets Lucky Bird has expanded into Eagle Rock in the former Eagle Rock Public House on Colorado Boulevard. With a bigger space comes a bigger menu that includes hot chicken, cobblers and banana cream pudding, waffles, mac and cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, deep-fried tofu, beer, and gluten-free fried chicken.

28. Philippe’s -> The French Dip joint is back to normal business hours in Chinatown. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
